Go to the man at arms lots of times and never had a problem with the food but Christmas lunch was shocking after half an hour sitting at the table had to ask for starters to be served and was very disappointed with the prawn cocktail served on a flat plate of wet lettuce with few very small prawns and sauce dribbled on top with 2 slices of white bread which was soggy from the water on the plate from the lettuce. Then came the Main Turkey roll some had 5 slices and some 2 parsnips were boiled and the gravey was that congealed you could pick it up roast potatoes were frozen ones so for 60 pounds was very disappointed which was a shame because we love the place normally but Christmas day lunch wasn't good sorry.

Myself and the family have just experienced the worst christmas dinner we have ever encountered, the Red lion Pub has hosted our last 3 christmas dinners and unfortunately has not gotten better over the years. This year in particular, the service was unbelievably slow , dinner not only missing items but many meals sent back due to the temperature lacking heat and over cooked food the common factor of bad dinner service was repeated throughout the pub with different tables experiencing the same issues myself and the family experienced. We choose to go out and enjoy a lovely christmas dinner out where we pay for the privilege of enjoying a nice meal out and spending time together as a family enjoying a few laughs and treasuring the time together, this year however myself and the family never wanted to leave a place so quickly . When communicating our issues to the red lion team the attitude we received had no care as well as no sense of rush to rectify any issue or sense of compassion. When speaking to the Manager he had no clear management thought process as had to clear it with his mum the head chef which led to him standing there whilst the head cook tried to resolve the issue, we were expecting an additional family member to the table however due to unforeseen circumstances the person could not arrive we notified the team 3 weeks prior to the evening yet every course when finally arrived after an hour each course the team would bring the additional persons meal out which we then had to repeatedly remind them the person was not here which was rather unprofessional. This whole experience has been a nightmare which has led to a terrible christmas family dinner, This is a shame due to the fact that we enjoy the pubs dinner on any other occasion. I cannot stress my unhappiness enough in regard to the dinner experience received tonight and a wasted £360, hope the many complaints the Red lion pub Welham will receive tonight changes their service for the future.

Huge thank you to Samantha and the team today. It's my mums birthday and unfortunately she is housebound at the moment. I rang in advance and requested if there was any way we could come in and order and take it away. They said it was no problem and even took the time to box it up for us. It was such a kind gesture and they clearly went above and beyond so my mum could have a nice big juicy steak at home!
