Nice pub, lovely people and delicious food. We came for Sunday lunch and had a set menu, it was all very yummy and locally sourced! Large portions and reasonably priced, looking forward to coming back soon!

Women behind the bar was wearing a tracksuit and had an attitude after asking for a menu who seemed to be the chef spoke to me in shorts with a scruffy fostersT shirt and told me they had 2 fish based starters and ONLY roast chicken for a Sunday dinner POOR customer service POOR menu options and by the looks of things POOR kitchen hygiene. Any reply can be posted by this company and thats fine but we seen and witnessed what we did and will never use this place again!.

Wow……. What a hidden gem. We fell upon this beautiful pub on our way to our holiday cottage. Stopped in on the off chance to grab some lunch and were blown away by the warm welcome, delicious lunch options and hospitality for us and our dog. It was so lovely, that we visited for lunch again the next day!!! Thank you for your warm welcome, beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. We will definitely be back.

Went for lunch. We were the only people there and everything was looking rather run-down. (The garden used to be very pretty.) A single menu was produced: hand-written when we arrived (we had booked!) with no prices and a very limited choice of basics (eg, ham, eggs and chips). Waitress apologised for delay in bringing food as the chef had "broken his hand" that morning. The food was awful. The chips were burnt and inedible. The ham was just a slice of ham straight from a packet. It was served with some limp salad leaves totally smothered in Balsamic vinegar. Such a pity. This used to be one of our favourite pubs in the area. Now under new ownership. We won't be going back.

We have visited this quiant pub lots of times pre covid, due to this and moving house we haven't been lately Decided to make the journey and come for Sunday dinner, On arrival we were shocked at the state of the lovely garden, dead flowers and very run down, used to be gorgeous rose bushes and lovely flowers Went into the restaurant, which was completely empty, and cold atmosphere. We had pre booked a lamb roast the night before. The girl came to take our drinks order, I asked what was happening with the pub. She said they were having problems and it was just her and the chef running the place ? The dinner came within 5 minutes, it was swimming in gravy and very un appitizing. I asked if she could send it back and relate without the swimming pool of gravy. By the time it came back the veg in the dish was cold. The lamb was very tough and fatty Nothing was nice. She did not come and ask if everything was ok We left the table, went to pay at the bar and she casually asked if all was ok I told her honestly No it wasn't, and explained why. All she said was 'sorry about that' The bill was the full amount, didn't offer to even knock £5 off. I don't mind paying for good food, my hubby is a chef and knows how hard it is But £ 14 each for a terrible dinner is just not on! Needless to say we will not be back. ?

They’re reviving this little secret in the South Leicestershire Langton. Beautiful village with cricket ground and quintessential English Pub! Great Fish & Chips - freshly cooked, steaming hot and the atmosphere you want in a village pub. Keep going guys. Keep up the great food and wonderful service. Loved it and looking forward to coming back

A group of 6 of us went last night for a Birthday meal. It all seemed quite disorganised from the beginning, no one brought menus, the girl behind the bar kept forgetting the drinks we ordered. After our food was ordered we waited...and waited...and waited. Food took well over an hour to arrive, and when it did, looked more like greasy spoon food than gastropub. The first 4 meals arrived but mine and the person whose Birthday it was had to wait another 15 and 25 minutes for ours. I had ordered the pork belly was the burnt underneath, overcooked and with just a huge piece of pork and mash on the plate, no veg or greens in sight. After complaining (and the girl behind the bar agreeing that the food was rubbish and they were getting rid of the chef!), a man we assumed was in charge came over only to tell us he owned his own pubs (later this changed to him saying he was there to paint the pub). This made the whole situation worse as he asked what was wrong and was quite defensive. He then disappeared to talk to the chef. He did not come back but was hanging around the bar when we went to pay. We ended up not paying for any of our food (this was not offered, we just told them that was what we were doing). We were told the owners weren't there. The poor girl behind the bar was upset and I can't blame her- the owners decided to try to keep the pub going while away with staff who were wag out of their depth- they clearly didn't care about customer satisfaction. The pub is in a beautiful but we would never go again! Completely ruined my friend's Birthday!

Staying in the area so popped for a meal. We'll what a lovely surprise, we had we ended up having a 3 course meal and omg it was absolutely beautiful, starter was a prawn cocktail with a twist, with mango sauce and avacardo slices instead of Marie sauce it was beautiful, main course was beef bourguignon, beef was lovely and tender and the flavour was stunning, the chef came to check that everything was OK, he was 17yrs old and so plsd and proud of our feedback, what a chef he will be in the future and one to watch! Our meal ended with Eton mess a favourite of mine, just as good as the rest of our meal. Definately worth a visit. The staff were all lovely and friendly, considering it was our first time there we felt like old friends, beautiful!!

Very warm welcome in comfortable setting. Very good wine selection and well kept beers. Delicious food and well prepared each time, we have visited. When our American friend came to stay, we ensured that this quintessential “English pub” was on the itinerary for Sunday lunch. We tucked-in for a roast but he had fish and chips! Either way, both very good.

Had a fabulous Sunday lunch at The Bell yesterday, very accommodating to fussy child eater and plenty of fresh veg on the roast for us grown ups . Beef was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. We will definitely be back ??

We visited the Bell Inn for the Christmas Menu and were very impressed , Lorna has only been there a few months but has certainly upped the game where the food is concerned , we all had turkey as you should and it was excellent lovely and moist fantastic roast potatoes and a good selection of vegetables at a reasonable price would definitely recommend

We went with friends recently and had a lovely evening as we hadn’t seen them for ages. However the food was ridiculously expensive which actually spoilt it for us. There were only 6 choices on the menu, as I don’t like fish I quite often go for steak but this was £35 for sirloin, not even fillet. Our favourite place to eat has built a wonderful reputation after 11 years and still only charges £26 for fillet steak. The food was tasty and the service was good but at just under £200 for 4 without even a bottle of wine on the bill we won’t be going again.
