Took forever to actually be served. We are a family with dietary restrictions. I have a boy with cmpa and myself / daughter coeliac disease (gluten free) I asked if they had gf bread which they did. When I chose mine, I was asked if I was sure I wanted it as wouldn't be nice on gluten free bread. I found this quite rude. I dont have a choice!!On food arrival my daughters toastie was actually just a sandwich and my boys toast was burnt on one side. Which is why he wouldn't eat it. Two young girls helping out, clearly useless. The one who bought our food stood staring at me as she'd forgot what she was serving then Said oh sorry I'm not with it today. The whole atmosphere of a peaceful breakfast out was ruined with all the shouting in the kitchen, young server's not in correct uniform, not taking orders, bringing food out which was wrong to be taken back, constant shouting of I'll be 2 mins. No highchairs available, not a suitable place for young children at all.I thought it couldn't get any worse until I paid she asked me if everything was OK. I'm not one to complain so said yes to be told well as good as it gets for gluten free. My daughter was very upset by this comment. Needless to say we shall not return. Prior to covid we regularly visited and it was always great. Gone down hill massively!!!!

Young lad in a Norwich FC top has no customer service skills whatsoever. Went in and we were greeted by him bent over double, sweeping when he blurted out "Got any allergies?". No "hello", eye contact, smile or anything. When we replied that we had no allergies, thanks, he then grunted and said, "Well, there's only cake". We got up and left.

We had the high teas and found these of high standard. The sandwiches were fresh and the Melton Mobley pie was sensational. Lovely old tea rooms and friendly helpful staff: what more do you need?

Came here with some friends, i ordered a cappuccino which to me seemed like it had water in it? it wasn’t very nice at all but drank it as i needed some caffeine haha. I work in a tea room myself and it just didn’t seem right. As well as that allot was spilled on the saucer - i understand we’re only human there was just quite allot and it wasn’t busy at all there was only one other table occupied whilst we where seated. My friend unfortunately didn’t enjoy her sausage baguette said the sausages where chewy. I got the soup of the day which was lovely, the decor is so sweet and looks lovely, just generally underwhelmed by the experience as well as my friends, wouldn’t return.

Lovely quirky hideaway up some hidden stairs. A bit confused about where to order but lovely place with nice coffee and cake!

Loved our visit here, large cake, good coffee and sandwiches/baguettes made to take away, all with friendly banter and service. Will call in again when in the area, thank you

Before I start this review we have visited previously last year and all was good. However my visit yesterday with my Mum (25/7/23) was awful. We ordered a pot of tea, a latte for myself and two toasted tea cakes. The tea arrived and although in a pretty pot was cold, boiling water had definitely not been used. This was returned and replaced. The latte was very small and the waitress spilled it into the saucer when delivering to the table again not in itself an issue. The tea cakes arrived but were not actually tea cakes but two tiny pieces of fruit loaf with even tinier sugar lump sized pieces of butter. At around £3.40 per serving, for my mum as a pensioner to pay almost £7 for 4 slices of fruit toast is just extortionate. The bill came to over £12 which I think is unacceptable, the waitress previously trying to total it on the till came to £24 twice at which point I offered to manually calculate for her. Safe to say I paid and we will not be returning.

Had two luxury afternoon teas today. While the sandwiches, cakes and savouries were delicious, my husband asked for coffee and was given a small cup. Asked for another during our stay, and was astonished when asked to pay for the extra cup. As I had a pot of tea with extra hot water, amounting to 3 cups, do not think it too much to ask for 1 more coffee for the £18.95 per head price. Rather soured the experience.

What a let down! Took my friend, promising a lovely tea as experienced on previous occasions . (Hadn't visited since covid lockdown). Surely a new owner? Place was nearly empty. No atmosphere and a very inexperienced nervy young girl waitress. Afternoon tea was four tiny quarters of mixed sandwiches - cheap bread and fillings mediocre . The ham was dry and old and no butter on the bread and the cucumber and chicken - if you could find a miniscule piece. Scone OK but very cheap jam. And Victoria sponge ok, nothing special. Certainly not £14 .50 worth of food . Definitely not going again, so disappointing. They used do better than this to get customers.

Such a lovely little tearoom, you don’t often find coffee shops with such character anymore so I love visiting here. Not only is it a cute and quirky venue, but they also serve gorgeous food which is always fresh and tasty! The staff are always happy and helpful too!Not only is it great to sit inside but sometimes I use their takeaway sandwich bar which is also freshly made to go. The afternoon tea is amazing too!I highly recommend and encourage others to try it out ?

Big thank you to everyone at the shop. I ordered an afternoon tea on line to be delivered for a Birthday gift for a friend. The communication was fab and the tea box they delivered was amazing my friend said there was plenty in the box for her to snack on all day. Will definitely order again.

Absolutely first class visit. Stopped on our way through Melton Mowbray but would happily drive an hour just to come here. tea room is so quaint, staff so welcoming and food fresh and delicious and plentiful - we were a large party of 9 and very few establishments are comfortable with that number, custome service was overwhelmingly greatDietary restrictions: Catered seamlessly for a lactose free and gluten free diet

Visiting melton for a few days and saw this tea room with what we thought was good reviews. (The reviews are old) We ordered 2 lots the luxury afternoon tea. It wasn’t worth the £17.50 each. The variety of sandwiches wasn’t great the scones were rock hard and who gets a piece of meringue with clotted cream, on a afternoon tea!!?? The staff was not attentive, didn’t even get asked once if everything was ok, only when we was paying. They only get 1 star as the coffee was drinkable
