From the real ale selection (especially on a Monday) to the food, staff and furnishings, this inn was a revelation. I will be including it in my itinerary of dining pubs. Sheer class.

Ramblers Anonymous. We are a group of approx seven walkers who meet up about once a month to do a ramble around Leicestershire.we always start and finish at a pub ,this Sunday was a stroll around Thrussington and lunch at the Star. The meal was disappointing with reheated vegetables and inedible roast potatoes.very disappointing.

Highly recommend, stayed here 3 nights. Staff were friendly, food was good, breakfast times flexible to suit our needs. Locals were all friendly and great atmosphere.

Unfortunately its gone down hill. The service was slow and disappointing and worse than that, that half the menu was unavailable (table booked for Friday 8pm) when the food eventually arrived it was cold and underwhelming.A lovely pub I really enjoyed, what went wrong?Food & drinks: Not so good

A disappointing evening, lovely staff and good service. But for a Saturday night there were so many dishes not available on the main course menu. Only 3 desserts on the menu and no crumble of the day so only a choice of 2 desserts. We won't be going back, definitely gone down hill from our last visit.

Decent feel to the place. A keenness to serve and very comfortable. Worth a visit.

Took my partner for a meal tonight and it was just awful. Greasy onion rings, burnt and dry lasagne and I asked if the pie was puff pastry and it was short. Bread and oils nice and garlic bread and atmosphere nice but food very disappointing. Didn’t eat it but was charged for everything apart from the lasagne so £50 wasted and had to come home and have a sandwich.
Lovely village pub with good service and nicely presented food. Child friendly with formal and informal dining areas. Close to A46 makes this a good stopping off or meeting venue.

Service was fine but let down by the chef with the big ego. He runs the show here, so what he says goes. I won't be going back. Bar staff and serving staff were great.
Stephanie Bolton
Beautiful venue and the pub downstairs has a relaxed charm. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly.
