My better half is gluten free and Andy's put themselves out so we could both enjoy a Friday night treat. Many thanks to the very polite staff.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free. Naked fish.

I’ve been slowly trying all of Boston’s Fish & Chip offerings. Today I got around to trying Andy’s. A very ‘traditional’ place, friendly owner who seems to have been here for years and knows many locals personally. Fish is fresh cooked to order (even Haddock can be skinless). Decent, crisp batter and proper old school chunky chips - nice and soft. The Mushy Pea’s tasted nice but was very ‘artificially’ green and it sort of put me off. Prices are around £10.00 for a Cod and Chips. I visited on a Monday (7th November 2023) and he was doing a brisk trade. I’m sure weekends would be busier. I’m not going to say it’s amazing, but as for Boston’s other offerings it’s the best. It’s a shame that we are loosing so many Fish & Chip shops due to the cost of running them and decline in business due to the cost of the food. You’d think therefore some would go all out for the best better, quality fish and potatoes cooked in clean oil and not just settle for the typical wholesale supplied sausages and burgers etc but diversify into other areas. I think Andy’s does well offering Kebab’s, fried chicken and decent Pies too and brings a bit of old school charm to the business. Well worth giving him a try, I’m sure your enjoy.
