I live locally and had family come to visit. I booked the table online to ensure we'd get seated. On arrival, the member of staff didn't have the booking as they'd printed out the sheet before I made the booking, she then checked the system and confirmed we did have a table. We sat down and decided on our order (7 of us, all choosing burgers or pizzas) went to the bar to order to be told there were no burgers or pizzas so had to go back to the table to get alternative options. Back to the bar again, my sister chose curry, I was then told there was no rice, but they could do it with chips. I couldn't believe we weren't told on arrival what was off the menu, and then again when ordering alternatives! I said to the member of staff that it would be ok if we were comped some free cheesy garlic bread, or extra poppadoms etc and I was met with a blank look and asked if I needed to order anything else. Our table was for 1pm. Food came out at gone 2pm and was not worth the wait. Chicken was dry, curry was more like a chutney so to be served with naan and chips was a lot of carbs with no sauce to dip into. When it came to paying, our complaints were voiced and again, just met with a blank stare. No apology, no offer to take anything off the bill. Terrible service and mediocre food. Such a shame as usually it's ok but it's not somewhere I'll take family again. Disappointing.

Really good beer garden which has a park at the back. A very posh place for a bite to eat, it is well worth the money that you spend here! There is disabled toilets and disabled access. There is limited parking here occasional parking on the high street but there is parking in the Burghley center then just walk over. Probably one of the best pubs in Bourne.Parking: Minimal parking here only on the street.

Tasty and well cooked food at a reasonable price. Friendly and helpful service. Range of seating options from outside to bar and areas with vintage decor. No queue at bar, even on a busy Friday night.

Lovely cosy pub with great food and really nice staff. Definitely recommend.

We went for Sunday lunch previously about 3 months ago and it was delicious. Went back on the recommendation of a friend who had raved about the fish finger sandwich. We were all terribly disappointed as the sandwich seemed to have shrunk by about 75%! Very poor portions, puddings were enjoyable but very small portions too! Table was sticky and not wiped over. Maybe we were unlucky on this visit but standards seem to have slipped.Vegetarian options: Nut roast best ever

Friendly pub with a little play area at the back, great food and decent drink selections however they could do with changing the menu and adding more drinks to the menuKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes

Been here twice now. Food is great, portions are solid. Prices are more than fair.Only faults are no salt/pepper on table nor any sauces BUT they will go and get sauces if you want them, I just don't like asking and I know I'm not the only one :)Will definitely return when we are in Bourne.

Going upstairs was quite tricky for my fiancé as he has a disability, however once seated, it was OK. The service was very good although it was a bit of a trek to keep going downstairs to the bar for drinks. The lasagne was far too herby. The roast was generous with succulent chicken and a generous plateful.Overall very good value for money.

The band was a wicked touch, littlen loved the play area. Great pub in itself but noticably let down by the new management. Dirty glassware and undercooked chicken is not ok. All at an extortionate price ££! I won't be returning unfortunately.

The beer was not to good but the fireplaces and beams and outside seating were impressive. My Nephew's wedding reception is at this venue at the of the year and am looking foreward to it. Ps I don't know where we are going to park the car!

Smiths used to be a fabulous place when Mick Thurlby owned it, but since the new owners have taken over it has gone down hill and fast. We went for lunch today and was told there would be a 45 minute for food, fair enough for telling me. It then took 90 minutes to get scampi & chips and a steak sandwich. The sandwich was the saddest looking thing I have seen in a long time! I only saw 3 members of staff there and they didn’t have the time to empty any tables with dirty dishes everywhere.

My husband and I had a delicious meal Sunday lunch time. I had Singapore Noodles with crispy chicken and Pete had a large Chicken Caesar salad. We were well looked after by helpful staff. The very historic building has many rooms on ground and first floor including converted stables. We loved it so much we came back for a pizza to share in the evening! Highly recommended.

3rd time we've been and the bar has been massively understaffed. 1 person serving on a Bank Holiday Monday. Sort it out Smiths. No one wants to wait 20 minutes to get served

Popped in for Sunday lunch, staff friendly. Had a glass of wine, the glass was very dirty, asked the waitress if she could change my glass to a clean one but the second glass was even worse than the first as pictures show, so left most of my wine. I’m not even sure the glass did get changed? I ordered the pork Sunday roast very tough but the dogs loved it. Not a good experience
