Called in for a late lunch as it appeared to be the only place open and serving food in town. The cafe area was an eclectic mix of styles, in the middle of which was an office.Food and presentation was OK, but pretty basic. Table hadn't been cleaned from previous visitors. They understood customer's finances were tight ensuring the coffee was dual purpose and could be used as paint stripper if you couldn't force yourself to finish it.

If brown furniture, peeling paint and squeaky floorboards are your cup of tea then this could be the place for you. The hotel was covered in scaffolding when we stayed and there was evidence in places of water damage from a leaking roof. The electric air fresheners in the corridors helped but there was the hint of a noxious odour at times. The location is central to Bourne and parking and street noise can be a challenge. In fairness our room was clean and comfortable if over warm and the en suite bathroom was satisfactory. Breakfast was good value and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is not manned from late afternoon onwards with guests given a key so that they can come and go.

We arrived very late... the manager ( I think he was the manager) he was very very nice and helpful considering we were very late..the room was adorable & comfy. The breakfast was super delicious.. absolutely loved this place. Although, parking was difficult to find.

needed updating.. the noise from the main road is constant all night from it being a major HGV ROAD at a set of busy traffic lights, staff in the morning are miserable too, so didnt stay for breakfast as put off

We go here for a relaxing coffee break or lunch when we are in Bourne town centre. Service is friendly and the food and coffee are good and reasonable in price.

Four of us popped in here for lunch on a weekday. The menu is basic, Panini’s, baguettes, jacket potatoes, salad. We opted for a jacket potato with coronation chicken, baguette with coronation, chicken and a prawn salad. For dessert, there is a choice of three different ice cream sundaes or cakes from the servery. The service was okay. The staff could be a little more engaging, especially when they ask you a question and walk away as you answer it. This happened to us and the couple next to us. The food was fine, nothing to score a “very good” rating it was only average. It’s more like a cafe than restaurant. I have never been to this town before, but on walking round after we had eaten, there are certainly a lot more places to eat that had more extensive menus.

We had a good break here for one night. Quirky bedroom with angles of room a bit out of true! Good breakfast.

My room was up in a cozy attic type room. I had to climb stairs to a loft. My impression was this was more like a guess house and not a hotel. The reception close after 5pm. So after ringing the side door bell someohe did appear and let me in. The bed was quite comfortable and the sea-side theme was very lovely.. It was all painted blue like a little boys room really. A full English breakfast was indeed the highlight of my stay at the Angel Hotel and there was a very good choice of breakfast options on the menu. The hot pot of tea, coffee or orange juice was always nice at breakfast. The decor was old school but classy and tasteful. A jug of fresh water was welcome in my room every day and the room itself was always fresh and spotless. In all a pleasant four nights stay. Disliked · The shower was badly designed although fitted with a big shower head it had no separate function to turn on the taps. So in order to get the right temperature you had to turn on the shower and reach into the taps which was awkward and could have been hazardous. I mentioned this to reception when leaving. They were aware of this defect. The view of the chimneys outside my window was charming but it didnt let enough light into the room. The size of the room was a little claustrophobic and was in my opinion for a loft type room, overpriced at €444.00 for four nights. The breakfast was very good, granted and the service was always friendly. There was no real presence of a personality ie hotel managerabout and never anyone on reception as it felt more resemblant of a guest house than a hotel. Why was the hotel called the Angel. There was nothing to suggest that idea anywhere in the decor? There was a very unpleasant strong smell on the first floor. I can only describe it as stale toffee smell. That's the nearest I can get to describe it but it was strong and unpleasant. Lastly, the outside scaffolding looked very unattractive. In the four days I was there I didn't see any sign of work being carried out.
