Was here tonight. I got the haddock and honestly probably the best bit of fish I've eaten. And as I'm from grimsby I've eaten alot of fish lol.

Called in at lunchtime with my wife. Think we were the only patrons at the time. Lady behind the bar was very welcoming and took our food and drinks order. We ordered from the two courses for £10 menu. Starters were with us within a few minutes, once we had finished the mains were straight outFood was very good and portion sizes were great. Excellent value for money.Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, all the staff were friendly and professional, room was very cosy with a lovely open fire.

Would have given 0 stars if posisible.I visited the castle inn with some work friends for a meal. The waiter who served us was absolutely appalling she was very rude making disrespectful and uncalled remarks and giving us dirty looks. We ordered our food and it took about an hour and a half to turn up when it wasn’t that busy in there there was only a couple other tables that had guests the food was lovely but was slightly cold due to it taking so long to come out the peppercorn sauce was way too thick that it wouldn’t come out of the jug it was in. When we had started eating our food about 40 minutes into eating our meal she came over and said is anyone finished as they like to take the plates early as “they don’t want to be washing up till 11 o clock at night” I said that I am not finished yet but she still proceeded to take my plate which still had a portion of chips and onion rings so I only got to eat the steak.towards the end of the night we was discussing whether to have one last drink before leaving to finish the night off when she rudely interrupted in the conversation from behind the bar saying”please don’t I’ve got a 5 year old child I’ve got to get back to” at that point we felt so uncomfortable with the way we had been spoken to throughout the night we decided to finish our drinks and leave the only time she was being respectful to us and showed good customer service was when we was now paying and leaving. I can now understand why the pub was completely empty on a Friday night. The pub was so cold I had to have my coat over my shoulders all night there was a coal fire behind us that wasn’t even lit I wanted to order a drink but felt so uncomfortable that didn’t want to go and ask for a drink and there wasn’t much selection of drinks behind the bar or a drinks menu so didn’t have anything to choose from.

Lots of the meal's are served on wooden chopping boards and it took quite a while for the food to come out, but when we did get them, they were nice.It was a cold in the pub. Service was goodFood & drinks: The food was good

Called in for a meal. It was ok and to be honest what was on the menu was not what we received. The seasonal vegetables with the Lincolnshire sausage - peas. The ploughman's lunch was more like a salad and included a sausage but no bread or apple etc. The service was good. The price fair and the pub nice. But I won't go back

A Wednesday lunchtime and we called in on the off chance. We were not dissapointed. Two drinks, two starter and two mains for less than £25.00. The lunchtime special of 2 starters and 2 mains for £10 each is a great deal. The food was well presented, piping hot, and very tasty. Service was efficient and pleasant. The only problem I can think of is what to have next time.

I’m on a mission to find a decent Sunday roast, unfortunately I didn’t find it today…I’ve heard great reviews from friends about The Castle Inn so decided to give it a go today. We were shown to a tiny table that had no hope of accommodating our plates plus the vegetable serving plate and gravy boat so my husband asked for a takeaway instead of dining in, despite being told they were fully booked and had no other table miraculously they found us somewhere else to sit (much appreciated btw). The meal arrived and the portions were very generous. The vegetables were all cooked well and my turkey was moist and well cooked, my beef was very chewy though. The mashed potato (of which there was loads) was so overpowering with pepper it was inedible. The roast potatoes were chargrilled but fluffy inside. My husbands gammon was dry.We were asked if the meal was ok and it was just about ok, certainly not good.Unfortunately this is another local establishment where I won’t be eating a Sunday roast again
