What a disappointment! The food wasn’t great. Chips arrived cold, chicken burger was dry and overcooked. Food took a long time to arrive even though there was only one other family. It wasn’t busy at all. A waste of money.

The service there this afternoon was out of this world all the staff are an asset to the company and the chef called Dan his customer service was outstanding and exceeded my expectations by miles what a pleasant polite young man to everyone I saw him serve I will strongly recommend the place and especially the carvery to anyone well done

I went for a Carvery on a Saturday afternoon and I have to say that it was inedible! However, the Manager was amwzing he had staff close the Carvery gave us our money back and offered us free dessert. For this reason we returned a couple of weeks later on a Sunday and the whole experience was better the veg was fresh the gravy beautiful, the ham was lean and delicious, the only thing I would criticise is the beef which was tough.

Staff are fine food was good the manager was very rude and ignorant watched me come in followed me to carvery queue waited until I had served myself and my partner seated ourselves and were about to begin our meal then took it upon himself to rudely interrupt the meal we were looking forward to to inform me that in future I should wash my hands before making my way round the carvery because in his opinion my hands were filthy and other people had to use the serving implements which I found extremely rude I had been working with some very strong but perfectly harmless black dye for leather and such now before we left home I nearly burnt my hands with the water trying to get the staining off if the manager had a problem why did he not come to me in the queue for the carvery to express his concerns and I could of explained to him instead he waits until we start our meal then proceeds to embarrass us in front of other customers sat nearby to us not an enjoyable experience at all and he ought to be ashamed of himself

This was out 3rd visit. All staff were friendly, the meals are nice and good value. One member of staff (didn't catch her name) went out of her way to accommodate us when we turned up way earlier than planned). Thanks again!

Visited The Trent Port for the past couple of months on my bike ride, all the staff are warm and welcoming. It’s a very personal experience, you don’t find that around here very often! Thank you for your hospitality, will definitely be returning! Good pint too!

We were in the local area on a sunday looking for a carvery. You'll never get fine dining and high quality produce if you're paying just a few quid for a meal, so realistically, we nipped it for pure convenience to fill a hole, without carrying any great expectations. You can expect imperfections with the food offered -you may wonder where the cabbage, leeks and sprouts are,you may also wonder why the roast potatoes were a bit spongy, rather than crisp with fluffy insides -and you know you can cook far better food at home! But that being said, the meat was tender and enjoyed, the vegetables were cooked without any passion, it was pretty average for a quick, convenient plate of food at a budget price. The McDonald's of the the carvery world .

When's a pub not a pub?We visited for a carvery and a meal from the main menu, I got the impression all they really want you to eat is the carvery as the waiting time was very long for 1 chicken wrap which turned out to be out of stock anyway. The bar is way too small for the size of the pub with only one person serving. The food (carvery) itself was nice and the staff were friendly and polite.

So last minute we decided to stop of here to ear. Sarah is coeliac so it is normally hard to eat Gluten Free at the carvery. Not here. Once they knew, chef cooked up a side of veggies just for her and made up a pot of gravy. Only other place we have had this much attention to her needs is on a cruise. Jess, you are a star. Thank you for all the help. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

We are regular visitors to The Trent Port as it is such good value for money and the staff, especially Vikki, are so friendly and welcoming. The carvery is excellent with a fantastic choice of vegetables and tender cuts of beef, gammon and turkey. Above all it is consistently of a good standard which is a rare thing today...keep up the good work! Thank you.

what an awful place. the food was terrible and staff are rude. I dared to ask what food was gluten free (it's a legal requirement that you tell me) and I was just told "it's up to you if you eat it".

Been here a few times and always enjoyed. Saturday lunchtime this time ordered a mix of carveries & off menu, and waited, and waited, and waited. Gave up, got the carveries, and waited. 2 complaints and 45 minutes later, carveries eaten and off menu meals arrived ! And now the but ..... the duty manager on the day was excellent, once he got involved everything was sorted and his resolution to our issues was above and beyond anything we could have expected. So in a nutshell... Service not great but duty manager / resolution of issues very good hence the 4 stars

Booked a table with ease using the app. Was greeted by polite and helpful staff. We were shown to our table and an explanation was given as to how to order food or drink - either at the bar or by using the app. We chose the carvery and it was very tasty with plenty of choice of fresh veg etc to choose from. There are plenty of other dishes available if you didn't fancy a carvery. It is wheelchair accessible and there is ample parking. The restaurant was clean and tidy and had a pleasant ambiance. (I think they also do a take away if required and maybe deliver although I think this is done through a 3rd party) Tom, keep up the good work.

Went for a carvery lunch, plenty of space and seating as quite late. Plenty of food available and displayed well. Good joice of size of portions from small, normal and large. Very good value for money. My only comment is that the vegetables could have been hotter. Lot's of vegetables and extras to choose. Lovely lemon pudding was excellent and not too big. Used my blue light card so had the discount. Good service and pleasant staff,
