We had a lovely lunch today, my husband had the Cowboy Burger and I had the Vegi one. The only blip today was that the coffee machine was broken and I had to have an Americano with milk ~ absolutely no problem except the milk was on the turn. My coffee was quickly replaced with milk that was fine. So in reality, there was no problem, the food was hot, well cooked, tasty and arrived promptly. The staff were polite and we shall certainly be going back. I was surprised at how busy it was, for a Friday lunchtime, the place seemed well frequented and popular.

I took the wife for an afternoon tea last week.. absolutely wonderful lovely fresh sandwiches homemade quiche and sausage rolls scones and cream and a fine selection of cakes with a few other treats all displayed quite elegantly as much tea and coffee as we could drink...a great experience in a beautiful farmhouse setting....only one very slight complaint if it were possible.. the cream for the scone was from a can which was a tad disappointing for dairy... 9.9/10

Absolutely love Sufian! We've just got back from celebrating my Son's 16th Birthday at this restaurant. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The quality of the food is great and really good value. It's a real gem of a restaurant in Gainsborough and will always be our go-to place for a decent curry.

Service was instant with a helpful member of staff.

I've just been back to Gainsborough for the first time in many years, and had an amazing pizza from here.
I grew up in Gainsborough, and back in the late 1990s & early 2000s Pizza Bari was always our stop on the way home on a Saturday night as the food was always great.
In a world where most shops seem to be slowly getting worse, it's good to find somewhere still just as good as it was all those years ago!

It’s a bold statement when a chippy has its own branded packaging, but after the meal I had last night, it’s easy to see why! There is absolutely a reputation to uphold at Middies, and they will give any other chippy a run for their money. Incredibly crispy and tasty fish, and delicious chips (not undercooked or soggy—huge plus!). Only issue is that we didn’t order more!

First time ordering from this place tonight, got to say that it was the best shish and doner kebabs weve had in Gainsborough. Plus a massive bonus for actually delivering coca cola and not subbing to Pepsi like Gainsborough grill kept doing despite my constant messages asking them not to bother sending drinks if they cant send coke what i ordered.
Drinks exactly what I ordered and freezing cold, chips were hot and much better in paper rather than going soggy in a container which everyone else does, kebabs were very fresh abd tasty as was the salad. Pizza was good as well.
Definitely my new go to takeaway only let down was the delivery driver was quite rude didn't say hi or thank you or anything looked miserable aswell but food made up for it

Had a brilliant night here, the fillet steak was perfect and the value for money across a meal for four of us was excellent, and there was a lot of choice!

You also cannot fault the service, attentive, friendly and although it was busy we were not rushed for food orders, and even though we possibly stayed a little late we were not moved on or interrupted! A really comfortable relaxed and enjoyable dining experience.

Hi, called in on tues 29th April, we haven't been in before and we were surprisingly taken back by how big it is inside, very clean very tidy, we had fish and chips and a battered sausage and chips with curry sauce and mushy peas (separate), it was all done whilst waiting but we were not waiting long, staff were friendly. we collected our food and left, when we got home it was still piping hot, but yes 100% was amazing, will definitely return. It was also very reasonably priced.

They also have a very tidy and clean restaurant bit in which is available to stay in and eat.

This was a great pub to go drinking at, with a stylishly presented counter! The pub has a vintage throwback style, the seating is comfy too and has a classic cushion base. I enjoyed a cheap pint of Coors, sat comfortably at a clean table although rowdy people had The Sun and Daily Mail which should be discouraged even though those themselves are not the pub's fault, hence 4 stars.

After flying and driving all day to make it to our cottage, we needed a comfy meal and The George was the perfect choice. The staff are amazing (the bartender assisted us in finding our feet and showed patience with us during our first visit). The food was delicious, filet and fish & chips and with the steak the peppercorn sauce is a must. The pub is located in the center of the village and is everything you'd expect from a quaint pub. They were queued out of the door when we arrived but it took less than 10 minutes to make the front. They worked as a team to get everyone their orders quickly.

Fish and chips were divine. The best I've had for a long time. Crispy and succulent.

The Gamekeeper

Visited 25/09/2025. The food was fantastic, apart from the Garlic mushroom starter that had an excessive amount of chopped garlic cloves in it. There were more chopped pieces of garlic in the dish than there were mushrooms which spoilt an otherwise nice starter, leave the cloves out of it.

I overheard someone complaining about the chips and my wife too, said some of the chips were hard and undercooked. However, mine were OK. The service was great with friendly staff. The venue was neat, tidy and had a relaxing atmosphere. One of the JBL speakers providing background music was blown and the rattle from it spoilt the effect.

Overall, I would recommend The Gamekeeper and we will continue to visit as we have done so for many years.

Attended a private party here recently.
Although dated it’s a traditional looking club from the 70’s.
Atmosphere was fabulous as it was a private event.
Filled with joy.
My friend got an outside caterer in and I must say the food was superb including the mobile hot roast van.
The service was a bit slow at the bar but to be fair this could have been due to. It having enough staff working to service such a huge party.
The venue itself is perfect for big party’s but the decor is a little tired and could do with some TLC.
