Bar • “I popped in for a quick drink whilst I was waiting for my Chinese takeaway. Friendly staff, calm atmosphere. Sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed a quite drunk as the sun went down. If you're in the area, give it a try and support a local business. ?”
Bar • “We are regulars to the Chequers for a nice dinner out or a special occasion and have always had a fabulous meal here. The place is an interesting rabbit warren of rooms and a lovely snug bar with an open fire, plus lots of outside space in the garden. The sharing steak is always beautifully cooked (actually we like it very rare which they achieve every time) and the accompaniments are lovely. It’s a lovely treat having dinner at the Chequers. The wine list and excellent draft beers are extensive, plus if you wish to stay over, the rooms with a lovely breakfast are very nicely designed. It has a warm atmosphere and the staff are great. Keep up the excellent standards please, as we love it!”

I was greeted by a very friendly bar person who made me feel very welcome. The place was clean and tidy and the drinks surprisingly cheap. Did it feel a little clicky, maybe, but many places can be like that. Hasn't put me off from coming back again ?”

Bar • “I visited the bar on the 30th October with my husband. The atmosphere was magical and a it was decorated for Halloween. Service was prompt and the staff very friendly and efficient. Cocktails were delicious!We would definitely visit again!”

“We recently moved to the village and to have the Red Lion here is amazing. We came for the village but will stay for the pub! Food is gorgeous, great selection of drinks and snacks, my wife has an unusual drink and they make sure they have stock of the bits needed to make it! We also recently lost an expensive pair of sunglasses and weren't sure where, we'd asked around the village and no one had seen them, then the following week the landlady saw us walking past and had them ready in an envelope for us! Such honest, friendly and welcoming people and the pub is well run and I would highly recommend.”
