So disappointing. I have stayed food very good . Room I stayed in very nice. So I bought a voucher for a friend . So they had a nice meal but didn't stay as put in twin bed. This was NOT explained to me at time of purchase as I would never bought it. I rang to explain my disappointment for my friend . And was told I would of been told. Clearly not. sadly the lady I spoke to wasn't interested in my disappointment and just wanted to pass the buck onto me. Please be careful when booking

A wonderful lunch at the Magpies yesterday. Really delicious. We were just passing through Horncastle and had a super time. All the hard work that has gone into the redecorating after the flood is super. A lovely atmosphere. We have also stayed there previously & the bedrooms and bathrooms are most comfortable.Rooms: Spacious and bathrooms very up to dateNearby activities: Market, notable antiques shops, sports centre, lovely town to explore. Near the Wolds & fairly near the coast & Lincoln

Not particularly welcoming, no atmosphere, the service was cold and a lough, decor was dated and tired seating was uncomfortable. Lacking any ambiance, such a shame as we were really looking forward to it. Would not return ?Food & drinks: The food was good, service cold and poor.

I’ve eaten here many times, truly fantastic food. It’s a meal you’ll remember. The sweets are world class.

We had played Woodall Spa Golf Course and were looking for a nice restaurant on a Sunday evening. Well, the reviews are spot on…..great food, great wine and brill service. If you’re in the area, you must visit this restaurant. Superb!

Delicious B&B breakfast. Moderate proportions if you tend to have big breakfasts at hotels, but not ungenerous. They offer very pleasant service and friendly service.

Stayed in the purple room for 2 nights and ate in the restaurant both evenings and had breakfast each morning. Couldn't fault the whole experience. The room was very spacious with a huge bathroom with both a freestanding bath and a large shower. Bed was very comfortable and the room was well appointed. The meal we had in the restaurant was absolutely delicious and was the best food we had eaten for a long time. Staff were all friendly and efficient and it was a great experience. We are already planning a return trip for our next special occasion.

One simple word describes this restaurant - perfect! From the moment we arrived we received a lovely warm welcome, attentive but not overbearing service and a comfortable relaxed setting. The food is outstanding, and a Michelin star would not be out of place here. Delicious amuse-bouche accompanied our aperitif and they set the tone for the rest of the meal. The main course of halibut was simply a stunning piece of cooking with every single element cooked to perfection and complimenting each other, clearly a sign that the chef knows how to bring a dish together without over complicating and confusing the flavours. The desserts were another delight, with the apple crumble souffle a very clever designed and executed piece of high end cuisine. If there is a better restaurant in Lincolnshire then I will eat my hat - just as long as it's cooked by this chef! We wish Magpies Restaurant continuing and much deserved success, and we can't wait to re-visit soon.
