The Coach and Horses Inn
Hemingby, HorncastleHave passed this pub on so many occasions and have always said we would call in and so glad that we did. This is just your perfect typical country pub. Picturesque from the outside. Dogs are welcome. Only stopped on our dog walk for what was going to be one drink and ended up having tea there. Good honest home cooked pub food. Where else can you have lasagne, chips & salad for £9 nowadays. Husband had gammon, egg & chips same price. Tasty food and good portion size Friendly owner & staff. Perfect village pub atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Just One More Bike
25 High St, HorncastleI just love this place! It is quickly becoming my favourite cafe/bistro of all time! Such a lovely atmosphere, because of the staff and food, and drink…. And all sorts of interesting customers, walkers, bikers etc… dogs….I have started popping in before or after work when I can. Today I had a battenburg kind of cake that was surely made in heaven! Any way, I won’t say anymore as I don’t want you all going along so I can’t get a seat! ?

Harpars Bar
6 South St, HorncastleExternal appearance an old coaching, inside a rough bar, but the reason for being there, wood-fired pizza. Did the bar live up to its reputation as one of the best in Lincolnshire (for wood-fired pizza)?A yard out the back, pleasant in the sun.Inside, electric wiring running through steel pipes, a neat touch, more in keeping with an up market coffee shop. The coffee sadly cheap catering supply. I'd recommend switch to something better, try Two Chimps, Outpost Coffee, Dark Woods.A Free House. Always the best, don't have the jackboot of a pubco on your neck. For the punter, a better choice.A good choice of cocktails.Knowledgeable owner, friendly and helpful. Pleasant, friendly staff. And the pizza?A Lincolnshire Live scribbler claimed could tell it was homemade dough Did not say how. Questionable when spicy toppings. But yes, excellent pizza, well worth a trip out to Horncastle.Food served Wednesday to Saturday, five o'clock onwards.Special thanks to the owner and chef for their kindness and taking the trouble to explain what they were doing.

Tapas Lounge
73 West St, BostonSpotted this little place on Google when planning my overnight stop in Boston. The reviews were very promising, but couldn't find much in the way of information otherwise? So I decided to take a walk to check it out when I arrived. From the outside, this is a non-descript modern frontage that you might take for a takeaway/cafe. However, step inside and you enter a Portuguese bodega that is vibrant, welcoming and reminded me of some of the lovely places I've visited in Portugal and Southern Spain. The food choices are many, with daily specials and the produce is fresh, tasty and authentically Portuguese.I had a lovely tapas of Olives, cheese (with fresh bread) and spring rolls for a starters and followed that with the peri peri chicken, which was beautifully seasoned! The portions are generous, so take care when ordering and perhaps share the sides if you're going as a couple or in a group? Also, the prices are very reasonable, so spending an evening with friends won't break the Bank ;-)The Hostess/Owner, Sonia, is delightful and prepares everything fresh to order, so be prepared to wait a little while it's cooking - the tapas and drinks will keep you occupied while you chat and enjoy the ambience!I was surprised that nobody had yet posted a TripAdvisor review, so I've added them there as well! ??It seems that this little gem is one of Boston's best kept secrets... well, not anymore!

Redwood's American Restaurant
25 Bridge St, HorncastleI really enjoyed this food and dining experience. The staff were warm, polite and attentive. The price was good and food great. The fried gherkins were excellent! Though if I was being critical there could have been more for the price. Really enjoyed them and the dip though.

Olivares Tapas Bar
3 Castle Hill, LincolnI feel a little embarrassed to say I’ve walked past Olivares so many times & never eaten there. So glad I decided to try it as it is an absolute gem of a place. The restaurant was extremely busy as it was a Saturday night but nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They made us feel welcome & were very efficient, attending to all the tables & ensuring everyone was happy. The food was spot on, yes it’s a little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. All the dishes arrived super quick & were hot & fresh & tasted amazing.Olivares is such a cosy restaurant with amazing service & top quality authentic tapas dishes. I will be visiting again.

Near the Wolds & fairly near the coast & Lincoln

The Red Lion Revesby
Revesby, BostonMy second visit and every bit as good as the first. Always very friendly and really good food, in fact I invited a couple of old friends over to eat and I wouldn't do that if I wasn't confident. Lovely countryside and a lot of local history......shame it's so far from London. Thank you to ALL the staff !!

Tapas Bar Restaurant
HorncastleAte at the restaurant as part of birthday celebrations as our previous booking let us down. The Bull Hotel were very accommodating at short notice and, having not ate there previously, we weren't sure what to expect. While the table was a little crampt for a party of 11, we were very pleasantly surprised. A relatively small choice on the menu but all to the parties tastes. The steaks were cooked well and the quality of food was very good. I opted for the belly pork cutlets, very tasty but a little overcooked and had food envy if those that ordered the steak. Waiting staff and kitchen staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful through the evening.

Gardener's Retreat
Lincoln Rd, HorncastleMainly stopped in for a bite to eat. I wasn’t sure what to expect as the menu and cafe isn’t advertised too well online. Very impressed! Very clean seating area and the menu is quite extensive. Online I saw reviews and mentions of breakfast and brunch, but there’s lots more! They also have daily specials available. Bathrooms could use a little rehab, but overall a lovely place to visit, with generous portions!

Horncastle Pizza & Kebab House
18 St Lawrence St, HorncastleGreat food, only downside was the 25min wait for the kebabs but that was just because we arrived at a particularly busy time.Parking: Small car park opposite the shop but it has odd angled spaces to fill the area which aren't really big-van friendly.

Costa Coffee
16-17 Market Pl, HorncastleBecca and Maddie always happy and welcoming. I'm in most mornings and they're always willing to make conversation. I do however feel that a new member of staff that's there needs more supportive training especially when it's busy. You can't train someone and keep the store running smoothly. More staff when the trainee is there I feel is needed. No need for the staff to be stressed.

Cooplands
33 High St, HorncastleThis resembles another chain of well known fast food sarnies and pastries, but less expensive. They have a wonderful "breakfast in a box". Its a choose either any six or any right for a fixed price. It's a "full English" in a box. Wonderful value and very nice food. Visited twice and had different on each visit. Sandwiches made to order, so they are fresh. Ready made sausage rolls and bakes. Plenty to choose from. Cakes and beverages are available Will definitely call in again when in the area.
