So ordered an ice late and got a glass full of froth, a BLT the bacon was rock hard, the ham sandwich for our baby grandson just fat and smelt off, the side salad was dead, brown lettuce and the purple leafs were black, food absolutely dreadful,

Went for lunch ordered 2 Panninis and a baguettes. Bacon was rock hard and too thick. The whole Salad was brown and floppy some parts of the lettuce were actually black! The Brie baguette made me feel sick the iced coffee was mostly froth and had to be sent back. Waiting ages for food for it to all look mouldy. Event he coleslaw was horrible. Ordered a ham sandwich for my son who loves ham and even he left his the ham was mostly white mushy fat and the bread looked stale. Smelt mouldy. Wouldn’t recommend this cafe to anyone what a waste of £35. A meal deal from Tesco would have been better !

I used to be a regular until one day, i went in about half an hour before closing, just for a pot of tea. Was given a very cold reception bythe chef, not shown a table and was told before I even said what I would like, that there was no food. I said I just wanted a drink. Told no, he wasn't going to be bothered making me a pot of tea. Not been back since and won't ever go back again.

What a find! Great value and wonderful food. Loved the lemon cream tea. Fab range of gifts to buy too. Fab open fire and views of the stream. Would highly recommend x

Absolutely horrible experience. Worst staffing and customer service. The staff didn't actually listen what I'm saying. I'm not recommending anyone to visit this caffe.

Lovely quaint place with home cooking and lots of choices to eat. Very busy, even on a quiet shopping day. Managed to buy a few quirky gifts there too. Friendly and welcoming staff, excellent service.

We were placed in a corner where the walls were pealing with paint and obvious signs of damp and mould. Check your cutlery before use and also don't get the smoothies as they are watery wand tasteless along with the food. Don't waste your time or money. A massive let down.

Great Gluten Free options - bread available, wide menu and a proper selection of cakes. Able to buy whatever I fancied pretty much!

Whenever we visit Horncastle we end up here but the food and service has become so erratic it's time to explore other venues. We took a table half an hour before close and ordered poached eggs on toast. When a waitress audibly sighs it doesn't bode well. The eggs were served workhouse style in a pool of vinegar water and runny yolk with soggy cheap Sunblest white on the side. The hurried service continued when the waitress, noticing my wife's foray to the gifts upstairs, asked about her whereabouts before studying her watch. The 'chef' has always been taciturn but the food and service has previously compensated. Sadly, it has become merely 'good in parts'.

Had an afternoon tea here and it was just beautiful, you have so much choice, they even do lemon option in the scones along with the traditional and cheese option. Really really good value would definitely highly recommend and we will be going back again. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the whole place just had a lovely atmosphere. Thank you ?
