Used the Royal oak for a family occasion from walking in to leaving every thing was perfect and as we were leaving it was lovely to see a village pub so full and still people of coming in they would not be disappointed if they were looked after like we were .Used the royal oak 30 years ago and it was fantastic then and now so excellent thanks

We had a really tasty meal but we were right at the end of the pub and quite cold had to eat with my coat on.

Lovely pub. Was empty when we went, staff lovely and friendly. Sat next to a roaring open fire and there were even blankets for the dogs to sit on. Food was beautiful. Can highly recommend the chilli with amazing homemade tortillas.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here on New Years Day, the service was great and the food was delicious, generous portions, and great quality home made food. The sirloin was cooked very well and hand battered onion rings ? highly recommended place to

Came here Sunday just gone and was blown away with food quality and quantity! Great service from tall lad behind the bar and was very apologetic for long wait as the pub was understandably RAMMED! Today was a great contrast too when we came first. We came for pie night quite a few weeks ago and was far quieter than what was happening on Sunday. On arrival we are greeted by a different gent in a very clear “doesn’t want to be here” demeanour… when food arrived it was a wonderful size portion again, lovely chunks of meat and lots of chips - was left feeling very full, but also very parched. Never once did the server come back too us and twice we had to stand and wait by the bar for him too appear again, noticing the couple other tables within the rooms that seemed to be spying for him as well… even having a little joke with them. Would defiantly recommend and felt the need to review this time to show the big difference between visits, in case other new comers may not come back to an otherwise beautiful place because of one bad experience.
