Very average. Visited as a family group and waited ages in a very cold bar for drinks. Service slow by a young group of waitresses who seemed happier to chat to their friends rather than serve customers. Waited 2 hours before food arrived. Food was OK but some dishes cold. Overall not great and I’m sure there are better places nearby!

Amazing food and staff! 10 of us had dinner, and we couldn't fault it! Thank you ?
If you ever fancy a good, reasonably priced Indian restaurant in the Scunthorpe and surrounding area, I wholeheartedly recommend The Mayfair in Messingham.Came as a spur of the moment and loved it.They cater to couples and bigger groups and have a cocktail bar attached.I had the chicken dopiaza with pilau rice and some of hubby’s chips, he had tikka masala and special fried rice. You definitely can pick up the different flavours and the addition of a garlic, coriander naan was sublime. It wasn’t greasy or oily and were decent sized portions too.The server we had was really good at listening to my concerns and making suggesting with dishes. We didn’t have a starter but will do next time as it was our first time and we wanted to get a feel of the place, food quality, atmosphere and attitude/temperament of the staff. The ones we encountered were incredibly pleasant and very polite. You’d love it, they are great and so friendly and even after 2 minutes you could tell that was him not a show for the patrons.Very easy to find tooBoth had our fill with drinks for less than £20 per head and totally worth every penny just for the attentive (but not annoying) server we had who didn’t ask every 2 minutes if everything was ok.They leave you alone to look through the extensive menu (which is beautifully designed) and then in what feels like no time at all your meal is being delivered on a trolley which means all your dishes are served together so there is no risk of cross contamination or any part of it missing and is piping hot.The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous with it’s simple layout and choice of either a booth or a table (we had a table as it’s easier to navigate with disabilities)100% recommend and 5⭐️ all around for service, food and atmosphere.

I booked a table a week in advance, when i arrived the table had not been reserved, and no decorations as requested as it was my birthday, The music was far to loud, when asked to reduce the volume i was told it was as low as they could get it, as i wear hearing aids, all i could hear was the music not my Grandchildren talking to me, as this was my birthday treat it spoilt the evening.
