After receiving a takeaway menu leaflet from Gurkha 19 through our door, last Thursday, we decided to place an order over the phone for home delivery.I placed our order at 6:15 and was told it would be delivered by 7:30. The delivery time came and went with no sign of our order. A few minutes later I rang the restaurant and asked if they knew why our order had not been delivered, I was put on hold. They eventually came back on and and with a bit of confusion on why we hadn’t received it, they said they would contact the delivery driver and get back to us. That return phone call didn’t happen!Over the next 45 minutes, I called three times to express my disappointment with their service and demanded to speak to someone who could explain why my order was still missing. I was informed that the manager would call me back, this did not happen!At 8:25 I received a call from the driver to say he would be with me in 5 minutes. Eventually, at 8:35, 2 hours and 20 minutes after my order was placed, the food arrived.On opening the bag, I found that every item of food was cold!!To even attempt to eat the meals, everything had to be reheated. The standard of food, both starters and mains were poor in quality and we ended up throwing most of away.Later, after reading the reviews that had been posted over the last month, in hindsight, I would not have wasted our money!! A most appalling service!

This used to be a fantastic place that served consistently amazing food!! Sadly our last take away was dreadful and was thrown in the bin. I phoned and spoke to the manager and even though I’ve been going for years and brought a lot of custom to this establishment they didn’t want to make a full refund and I was messed about with promise of calls that wasn’t made. He first said it wasn’t the usual chef and then said it was… how can a fantastic chef go from 100 to 1 over night? The chef suddenly was in charge and said he would offer us a discount on our next meal however due to the concern of the next meal being valentine and another possible dreadful meal we’ve declined and cancelled our booking. The call was ended by the manager who stated he would phone me back and again, this hasn’t happened.If this is a new chef, I would avoid until they sort themselves out and get back a chef that can cook amazing food like they always have done prior.

Ordered a takeaway which wasn’t great. In one dish, the chicken tasted off so I didn’t eat it and it went in the bin. Other dishes were satisfactory but not good enough to make me want to eat here again.Service was friendly and efficient.

I visited for the first time and I was not disappointed. The food tasted amazing, fresh and quick! The staff were super personable and happy to help. I will definitely be bringing a group of friends back here to enjoy a fantastic Gurhka experience!

Really fantastic food - we all had two little plates rather than a main meal, and all of the starters and veggie sides we had were delicious and very different in flavour which is really great. Very definitely recommend the Momo, just delicious - really fabulous steamed dumplings with a tasty sauce.Wheelchair accessibility: Access wise, if you're partially mobile it's fine, although do note that it's a small tightly packed restaurant, and the loo is at the far end. It's flatish to get in with a small step, but it's a tight access with the entryway being 1m x 1m with doors at 90 degrees to one another. I got out of the chair to get in.Service and food are fabulous though.

Went here for a large family gathering. Staff were fabulous, and the food just as good. I'm from the Glasgow area which is spoiled for choice with quality Indian restaurants, but Gurkha 19 compares favourably with even those. Everyone loved it, with a few being regulars. Next time I'm back in the area, I'll be hoping to visit again.
We visited here on 17th Oct and booked a table for three at 7pm. It was our first visit here and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were lovely and the food was really tasty and brought to the table quickly, despite them being really busy. We will definitely be back! :)
