It's a nice, genuinely quiet place, although I found the staff a little unprofessional but overall they were okay. There isn't really any parking for the pub so you have to use the council car park opposite which you do have to pay for but it is free after 6pm. The food is fairly typical pub food.

They accommodated a table of 8 at short notice and the service from start to finish was second to none.Greeted the moment we walked in and within minutes our drink order had been taken. We were advised that a table of 20 had arrived so there may be a wait for food.There wasn't! The food came out in a timely fashion and really was exceptional.Portion sizes were incredible, it's no mean feat to find a pie that can defeat the father in-law!!Cannot recommend this place enough, if you're in the area, you should visit.Will definitely be going back.10/10

A table of 11 of us descended on The Barge for New Year’s Eve. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was phenomenal, the service, as it always is, was professional and friendly. Always made to feel welcome, and always a great night out, New Year’s Eve was outstanding even by their own high standards. The best New Year’s Eve we’ve had for 20 years, hands down. Thank you Mick, Donna and the whole Team. Look forward to more of the same in 2024.

Wow, what an amazing experience at the Barge and Bottle for New Years eve 2023. Donna and Mick absolutely know how to put on a show, combine that with such amazing staff, Richard, Chris and Clive were as always fabulous (everyone one else but too many to mention). We started with Mussels in a garlic, white wine and cream sauce which as the photo shows was amazing, I then had quite possibly one of the best steaks I had ever had, well rested, lovely and pink in the middle. Thanks to the whole team (joe) great chef and part of a brilliant backroom group who constantly excel at great food and presentation. Cheers folks - keep safe and above all keep smiling.
