Used The Mallards to host our Work Christmas Meal. A small place who dealt excellently with a group of 21 people. The service was prompt yet extremely welcoming. The food was exceptionally good with minimum wait time between meals and was served in a way that really brought that homely Christmas feel to the table. They catered well for all of our needs and the service and food they provided was excellent value for money. Superb place to stay. Great rooms. Everything lovely and clean. Staff helpful and friendly. The breakfast is the best ever. So many choices like full English, Poached eggs omelettes etc. Very delicious too. Parking is a doddle. Really enjoyed my stay. Thank you.

Visited for a meal with my wife, I had the lamb roast of the day and my wife the ribs and both were amazing! .. big portions and very tasty and great price. Service was spot on Thankyou ... Will definitely visit again.

I've given this place full marks, can't fault it at all, when people go above and beyond what is expected, great value for money and right in the heart of town, the rooms are clean comfy and a decent size I slept really well, full english for breakfast was very nice & made with quality items, special thanks to the nice guy who saved me from getting a parking ticket after I messed up with the ticket I bought (owe you a beer) if you take a wander down to the bottom of the car park the river Slea runs past & is so clear the fish can be seen perfectly.This visit was for a wedding but we are considering a return visit in September so we can visit a few of the bars & take in an Indian restaurant.

Excellent, friendly, comfortable, room had everything needed even a fan and a separate electric heater all in working order. Good breakfast with choice cooked to order. Very convenient in middle of town and parking arrangements for overnight made by hotel which was much appreciated. Would not hesitate to go again.

I recently stayed a few nights at this hotel and highly recommend it. If you are looking for something super luxurious this may not be the place for you but if you want a conveniently located place with clean, comfortable, spacious rooms with en suite, helpful and friendly staff and a fabulous cooked breakfast all at a fair price, this is the place for you! There is a council carpark at the back of the hotel and I was able to easily get a parking spot right outside the hotel every day. The hotel staff always made sure they put a ticket on my car so that I wouldn't get fined which was much appreciated. As an added bonus, the Sunday roast is fantastic - really delicious with well cooked, hugely generous portions. This place is a real 'find' and I would definitely stay there again.
