Had a shocking experience the other day, can't hold back my anger with this poor customer service anymore, I purchased a record player which I was fully assured it was working fine, plug it in at home and it started smoking, returned to shop and the very poor volunteer argued with me that did work fine when tested, which was rubbish, if it was tested then it would never would gone out for sell, Jo made me upset ,her attitude stinks , finally recieved a refund after lot of fuss from you know who now guys.

I was told by the low level worker in the shop that " I looked Dodgy"on entry to a charity shop ! Not a pleasant welcome from the already poverty stricken dump of Spalding of all places !!maybe a production line in a factory is more fitting for this kind of zero personality and poor customer service attitude .I will cancel my subscription for a friendlier business" ah hum "( I mean charity )

I went into the St Barnabus charity shop in Spalding earlier today, I've been struggling financially with the cost of living crisis and a lack of overtime at work, so I've been giving buying and selling a go. I've never asked for a refund at a charity shop before, but I bought 3 old books on Monday for £29 and when I got home and looked them up I realised I had no idea what I was doing with old books and I'd made a poor decision, so even though it was awkward I went in and requested a refund, I was polite and honest about it and I recieved the refund, but I had 3 members of staff at least there giving me dirty looks, the man at the till had a go at me and a woman (im pretty sure worked there) called me disgusting as I walked out. I get it to some extent, it was a bit dodgy... However... Last year I bought tons of books from charity shops in Spalding, more from this shop than any other, that money went to charity, then I spent my own time wrapping them as mystery books, overall I wrapped over 120 books that I then went on to sell for charity at work. We raised around £280 for Macmillan and around £60 for Sunnydays childrens fund and I'ts not like I was reimbersed for the money I spent. One of the members of staff there today served me then and even back then, when I told him what I was doing I was given the stuck up response of Oh you're just copying us then! I also volunteered in Wood Green for 6 months, albeit for my CV, but I didn't have to be there that long and I was sometimes doing 5-6 full days a week and running the store. Now I know these guys aren't to know any of the good things I may have done, but who do they think they are judging me over a £29 refund. If they weren't so stuck up and practiced some better customer service they might just make more money for charity. I'm half tempted to give one star, but they do have some great stock and the store is presented reasonably well... But you don't know me guys, or anyone else for that matter! So anyway I left feeling like a complete piece of ****, so for any customers out there of this shop, doesn't matter any of the good you put out into the world, If you want to return anything to this charity shop, be prepared for a bad reception and just downright rudeness.

Difficult to find as hidden behind market stall on market days.Google maps place the shop in SheepMarket and not Market Place Spalding.Lots of interesting items to browse or buy.
