Had the carvery here and to be fair it was very good. The staff were very friendly and were there to help. The meat on the carvery was cooked to perfection as the roast beef simply melted in the mouth. The cost was very reasonable too.

Average marks because it's ok, it's average. Maybe I expect too much but I long for the days of proper gravy! Good points 1. Turkey was lovely not dry at all, beef too fatty for me ( but I find rib often is) Yorkshire was bit doughy as it needed more cooking time to crisp it up. Veg fine, roasties ok as I know it's hard to keep them crispy under heat lamp. But the gravy ? it's like the stuff you get in chip shop definitely from a packet. I don't understand why they didn't at least add the juices from all the meats cooked? As this would've elevated it to a different level. It was so thick it was glutinous. The staff are very nice and it's a decent environment but in my opinion it's definitely quantity over quality. I think we're heading into the decade of generic food with basic cooking skills a thing of the past.

I went for a family meal yesterday with my mum and sister we were seated straight away shown to our table as we had booked a table for 3 we were offered drinks and a choice of starters but we came for the famous toby carvery we ordered 3 normal sized roast dinners. We went up for our meals we all chose two meats turkey and roast beef with a giant sized Yorkshire pudding nearly filled the plate i mean who doesn't love a nice crispy Yorkshire pudding we had the two meats at the sides then we had many choices of roast potatoes mash potatoes cauliflower and crispy potatoes in a creamy sauce, there was stuffing variety of vegetables peas carrots cabbage we had a little of everything then was a section were we could put our own gravy on a a variety of sauces apple sauce cranberry sauce and topped off with a delicious rich gravy, the food was excellent the service excellent we couldn't fault anything very tasty food I'd really recommend this toby carvery to anyone who appreciates good quality food and services and a family friendly atmosphere for all ages, we had lager shandys very refreshing and cold with the meal, we didn't have to hurry up we took our time we could of stayed longer chatting so we finished off our dinner and drinks and i went up to pay for our meals and it was not expensive at all very reasonable with drinks as well so we had a great family meal nice drinks great service great staff in a nice cosy family orientated restaurant, we are all looking forward to going back for more delicious family meals in the future. Thanks very much to all the staff at the toby carvery we really appreciate how good everything was.
