First time visit, fast service, food was delicious.

Very poor. Went for a late night Chinese. Food was dry and tasteless. Service was poor: ‘Excuse me’; “what do you want?” ‘Can I have some water please?’ Grunts and fails to bring water.

The food is below average, staff are rude, the place has no atmosphere and they add extra obscure charges to your bill. I won’t return and definitely wouldn’t recommend. If Jumbo City continues serving rubbish food and ripping people off it’ll soon go out of business.AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

Be very careful in this restaurant they over charge you and add a service charge that you are unaware of. We were a group of 6 out for a birthday celebration and visited the restaurant at the end of the night. 2 of us arrived first and asked for table for 6 we ordered our food while waiting for the others to arrive and the other 4 ordered their food a couple of minutes later. We ate our food which was average at best and paid the bill £112 we did think it was expensive for what we got but the menus had disappeared so we couldn’t check and the bill wasn’t very clear. Today we have checked the online menu and I will list below what we ordered and checking the menu we have been overcharged by about £40 absolutely disgusting. Vegetable spring rolls x 2 1/4 crispy duck Peking ribs Singapore vermicelli Crispy beef Salt and pepper chicken Egg fried rice x 2 Curry sauce We will never return to this place and advise everyone to steer clear unless you want to be overcharged as I have read other reviews when obscure service charges have been added. You should be ashamed of yourselves jumbo city

One of the best, and open late, and always seems popular.

Have visited Jumbo periodically for over 10 years before and after Covid , however my visit yesterday will be the last . The restaurant appears to have changed hands and had a little refurbishment from 10 - 12 months ago but it’s not what it once was. Food was ok but not special but very pricey . No children’s portions or menu - very odd for a Chinese, as I know how Chinese people are so family orientated.£ 12 for a 4 yr old to have some chicken fried rice - ridiculous!! Staff were polite but not friendly . But then to be told they no longer do deserts or even ice cream - left my children very dissatisfied and upset . And then finally to have a £ 10 service charge sneaked on to the bill , which the printer mysteriously made illegible , left a loyal customer feeling ripped off and dissatisfied, and will never return - well done jumbo city !!!

The worst service in a restaurant ive had in years. The manager was not a bit interested in feed back.

Absolutely awful food, the worst Sui Mai I had ever had and no seasonal veg dishes.

Awful service, awful food, all overpriced and not worth it at all. People taking the food before we’d even finished, spoke too rudely by the staff and they added extra drinks too our bill that we hadn’t had. Really bad experience.

Very disappointed. First visit to China Town in Liverpool in a while but certainly won’t be revisiting Jumbo City restaurant. Chicken Satay starter was the toughest, overcooked tasteless chicken I’ve ever had. Surely the chicken should not have much/any skin on it for this dish. Cantonese Duck was again overcooked, very dry and came with virtually no sauce. Manager not very friendly and didn’t deal with a noisy group of 10 blokes who came in continuously swearing and shouting. Very poor meal - I’m sure there must be much better Chinese restaurants in this part of the City. I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone - you can get better value in a motorway service station!

We came about 30 minutes before closing which made me nervous, I thought it the food might not be the best but I was so wrong. The food was steaming hot and absolutely delicious. 10/10 recommend, especially the sweet and sour bean curd.

Food was tasteless and very expensive. Service was efficient enough but the staff looked miserable.

First time in Liverpool for us two and thought we would head over to China Town for our evening meal however when we got there we found that China Town in Liverpool is quite neglected and a little run down and there was only a handful of restaurants. My partner had pork satay and I had pork in oyster sauce, we both tried one another's food but both pretty much taste the same, my meal definitely didn't have oyster sauce, we've by far had better takeaways locally where we live. The staff were quite curt and didn't appear to be very happy. When it was time to pay the bill I didn't realise there had been a gratuity charge added of£2.90 and I'd just paid by contactless otherwise I would of asked them to remove it. I have no issue in giving a tip but it's earned by the experience of the meal and staff which in this case it hadn't. It's seems to be getting more common now in the uk where the gratuity is just being added to the bill and you may not realise you've paid it I personally like to leave on the table but then I'm probably old fashioned. We won't be visiting again.
