Fabulous place good beer. We didn't eat there but the food looked good. The staff were needing some people

Sorry to report. The Gents were needing a good clean . In fact they were stinking. Very disappointed. The public areas are worth a visit. The food was acceptable but no more than that. The beers were well kept .

Fantastic place, no wonder it was John Lennon's favourite pub. Did not have food.

Ordered the lamb shepherds pie and it was cold in the middle. Returned it and got another cold in the middle pie. Third time it was served it was piping hot, I presume shoved into the microwave. Tasted ok but not impressed with service and being served cold shepherds pie (especially at the prices they charge in the Philharmonic pub). We won't be back here!

We had dinner here last week when visiting Liverpool. Amazing pub and restaurant. I had the fish and chips and it was very, very good. Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was excellent and very friendly. Make a reservation for the dining room. The pub (downstairs) is stunning. Beautiful wood work and very cozy. Many selections of beer, mixed drinks and wine on the menu. We did not have any problem finding a spot to sit. A must visit when in Liverpool.

Superb interior that must be seen to be believed. Cask beer selection could be better.

Incredible building with beautiful iconic interiors. Still functioning as a pub with a good selection of ales, friendly service and good food. An absolute gem in a huge selection of other iconic buildings in Liverpool.

Jaw dropping Victorian decor and faultless bar food.I'm in love with the architecture here from the copper details, mahogany, stained glass (and rhyming slang Brahms and Liszt on the doors to the snugs). To me, going here for a pint or a meal is like admission to a museum. The food is very good. They offer pub favourites and some more upmarket choices; menu and booking are available online which we prefer. I had fish and chips and my partner had seabass and we both were very happy. Served hot and quickly and prices were reasonable. We were welcomed into the restaurant area warmly. On this occasion there was slight confusion with our reservation and I had to show the confirmation on my phone. It was rectified immediately. It was a perfect casual meal in superb surroundings with great service.

As a Liverpool resident I have visited this pub a few times.I love the warm and cosy atmosphere, and amazing architecture, the food is lovely too.It is also within walking distance of the White Hart pub across the road from it , which I also recommend.
