The owner is very friendly and helpful. They food is good, portions are adequate. It was very quiet when I was there, the owner said that since covid business has been much quieter. Pity, it’s a nice place run by a really nice man.

I used to eat here regularly some years ago and was always happy with the food. I believe the ownership hasn't changed but the food certainly has. I drove there as I wanted the Phaal I once had, as I loved its 7 chilli rating. However, it was an appalling excuse for a curry, barely above Korma strength. The pilau rice was closer to Chinese fried rice. So disappointed I couldn't eat it. If this is an example of what they offer these days, I won't be returning

Service was great! I was delayed in getting back for my order so the remade my dumplings. Everything was perfect. The Paneer dish and the Tandoori chicken was just wonderful.

We chose to go here for a birthday meal after reading the reviews and I can honestly say the food was fresh and hot but, the curry was tastless I ordered a sambar. The mixers with the drinks were flat and for what we had it was over priced.

The food was amazing as always, The staff went above and beyond so lovely we had a side of poppadms mixed kebab starter and onion bhaji between us for starters then I had the tandoori chicken tikka masala and he had a lamb buhna bith wth onion rice wiith a side of garlic naan and chips and it was plenty, would highly recommend this place

Had a walk through st Helens centre last night. Walked past the palace balti. And it was rammed. No seats available. So we ended up going to the Tandoori Ghar. It was empty. Only us in their the whole time. The host was a lovely fella. Poppadoms to start. Nice. Onion bhajis was ok. Not the round balls. But flat ones. The wife got chicken shashlick more like chicken tikka. Didn't come sizzling. Small pieces of chicken. Small curry sauce. I got beef jalfrazy with keema rice. With a garlic and coriander naan. It was the smallest meal I've ever had. Could of ate it in 4 spoonfuls. And the naan was not cooked. It was doughy. They don't have any takeaway menu. He just gave me his phone number. Witch was strange. Only positive was they do beef. So if your hungry. DON'T GO HERE. ☹
I've been coming for 30 years. The food never ever lets you down. Cooked hot and freshOwner is a great guy always friendly and chattyLongest lasting curry house in st Helens, yes there are bigger and posher decor but as far as food goes you won't find better in st Helens

Doing this review as I'm actually sat in the restaurant eating now... Well... What can I say.. Couldnt get a seat at ba'bursi for 2 people!!! So thought we would give tandoori ghar a try. Never been here before and can't get my head around why. It's the most nicest Indian food I've ever tasted with the best service ever. Can't wait to come back and would highly recommend. It's the best Indian I've been to in my opinion. Food is tasty and good portions, staff are fantastic. It's just a great place. Cant fault it at all. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
