Fish and chips worst I've had for a while. Haddock overdone, batter not nice, chips just edible when covered in salt.

Visited today about 3pm ordered 3 meals fish and chips, chips sausage and gravy and chips and sausage for myself, wife and son. Half way through my chips sausage an gravy and half way through the chip I was biting I noticed a nice curly hair attached to the end of said chip.....? so took meal back to counter and showed them. Staff apologised and another member of staff offered a new meal, which I declined as don't know what I'd get in that one. No offer of a refund so will not be returning.

Visited here while in Southport for the day. I had the sausage and chips which was nice. However, my parents both had the fish and chips and said the fish was quite dry.

Went to Southport with daughter and grandson. Unfortunately picked the wrong place to buy fish chips for our seaside treat. I ended up with violent vomiting and explosive diarrhea. It had to be the fish as it was just me that had it. Thank goodness I'd got home before full impact of eating this meal happened or may have ended up in local AE dept. I'd advise anyone reading this to avoid using this establishment or face the dia consequences of what I've experienced eating from this place. Wish I'd read reviews before I did!!

Nice fish and chip restaurant at the inland end of the (sadly, closed) pier. Friendly staff, cheap and cheerful. Food was nice, portion sizes good. Bonus decent amusement arcade owned by same family next door. Beats McD's or KFC etc. Would happily return.

Many of the tables were dirty, and the first set of cutlery I picked up was still dirty from previous use and had to look for some clean ones. Children’s high chairs were being put away after use without being cleaned. Unhygienic place - food was ok, but won’t be going again…

Had lunch today, we were a very large family party, (quite a few oldies) the staff were super patient with us and handled all our associated nonsense professionally and always with a smile. Food was great and the staff didn’t move us on, just left us to our own devices while the oldies nattered away. Will definitely return. Great service.

Not the best at all, and wish I'd read the reviews first. I only had a chip barm and it was awful. Dry tasteless chips, on a dry un buttered barmcake. The barmcake i think was a pre sliced warburtons. Broke apart it was that dry. Wish i had taken a photo and the portion size was minute for the price. I recommend you go to the others within the vicinity.

Silcock's Pier Family Restaurant in Southport is a welcoming and inviting spot that provides a tasty menu that caters to all palates. The restaurant sits just along the pier, with an impressive view of the Marine Lake. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely, with plenty of comfortable seating for guests. The standout feature of the food selection is the seafood dishes - especially the fish and chips. The fish is battered to perfection, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The chips are also cooked tenderly, and their serving size complements the perfectly cooked fish. Moreover, the restaurant offers a wide selection of vegetarian options for customers looking for plant-based meals - although there aren't many choices for vegans. The prices are reasonable, and the quality of the food and service make it excellent value for money. The staff's hospitality is commendable, with each member exhibiting a friendly demeanor and approach in dealing with customers. The restaurant's cleanliness score is also exceptional, and the staff put a lot of effort into ensuring that the diners can eat and enjoy their meals in a clean environment.Overall, Silcock's Pier Family Restaurant is a great dining spot for families or couples looking for a laid-back atmosphere and delicious food. From the seafood options to the vegetarian dishes, there's something for everyone. The service is impeccable, and the location offers a picturesque view of the ocean, adding to the dining experience's overall ambiance.

Don’t have pictures to show but came here some time last month with my 1 1/2 year old daughter. Ordered scampi and chips, more than enough on the plate for me and my child. They included salad, too. Staff were decent and friendly enough. I sat inside, which was nice and cool on a hot day.Kid-friendliness: My daughter kept getting a lovely smile off one of the waitresses (?)Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to get in and out with pram so a wheelchair shouldn’t have much problem

Looks like yesterday’s chips never again and not for that price

£2 for a small tray of burnt re-heated chips served by a sullen teenager. There are plenty of chop shops across the road that are far superior.
