It's a good idea, choose your own bottle then they add a modest corkage feee if you'd like to drink it there. We had a delicious Gavi plus a pint for not much more than a couple of drinks at a pub in W London.

The manager, Monzu, works closely with his staff, to ensure all customers receive the best dining experience. We have to give a special mention to Iqbal, who looks after us whenever we visit. Staff are great and it's a welcoming place, always pretty busy. Has a big dine-in restaurant or can takeout, which is obviously cheaper. On-street parking is difficult and not free but that isn't the fault of the chippy. I'd go back for more.Vegetarian options: Cheese and onion pie etc.Parking: Plenty of paid spaces on surrounding side streets, appears to be council-maintained.

4A Liverpool Rd, Birkdale, SouthportWe came for football and had a perfect view of the tv, there are plenty if that is your thing plus a huge projector style screen too so it's a great space for watching any sport really, which we did. They also had a Halloween speed quiz event on the night we were there which was a good laugh. They appear to have a new food menu which we tried. It really was lovely food and perfect for that type of venue as you can eat sat at the bar with plenty of space or at one of their tables also. We ordered the chicken pizza and nacho loaded fries. The pizza in particular was really good, the base was cooked to perfection and the toppings were plentiful without overloading the pizza. I'd order again and maybe try some of the chicken wings too next time. Thanks for a nice night, top service by Collette and skel, thanks guys.

Arden Cafe
75 Eastbank St, SouthportWe walked past Cafe Arden & liked the look of the menu so dropped by for lunch. The cafe is really clean & spacious. It was quiet when we arrived but more people turned up during our meal. We ordered from their £7.50 menu which included a main, a hot or cold drink, & a couple of scoops of ice cream (50p extra for an extra scoop). For the main, we got cod & chips. As for the drink, we got a decaf coffee. We also ordered a beef stew, & an extra scoop of ice cream. Everything came up to £13.95. It was cash only. The coffee was nice but milk was added without first checking. The food took a while to arrive but was freshly prepared & piping hot. The batter on the fish was light & crisp & the chips were freshly fried. The only thing which wasn't great were the peas which were too hard, as if they were undercooked. There was a pot on the side with sachets of sauces & for some reason there wasn't any ketchup. The beef in the stew was really tender but there were more potatoes & carrots than meat. The crusty bread on the side was warm & crisp & lovely when the butter melted on it. The stew was served with beetroot & pickled onions. The ice cream was a welcome end to the meal. We really liked the meals we had at Cafe Arden. We also liked that it is linked to the college which provides courses for those with learning difficulties with the view that experiences gained can help them obtain employment. Based on the quality of the food we had, the place obviously works with & supports very talented people who will do well in the hospitality sector. A visit is defo recommended!

It was dip and pitta heavy, with only one meatball each and small amounts of everything else. Yes, the dips fill you up but we didn't really get to sample a good selection of other Greek foods. The whitebait was really strong tasting and quite unpleasant but the king prawns were amazing. The restaurant was a bit cold (which is a pet hate of mine) and there were still ridiculous covid 19 signs stuck in place. I've given it 4 stars as I'm sure we would have enjoyed starters and main courses more.

2 Weld Rd, SouthportThis is not the first time we have been but today was a totally different experience to our other visits. The Sunday Roast was good but not excellent as it had been in the past. Service was poor to non existent, when shown to the table, we were told someone would come and take our order. After 15mins we went to the Bar for drinks and then waited a little more and went to order at a service area, where I was kept waiting over 10 minutes, at first the Bar was full, however even with 3 staff on when the Bar cleared no one came to serve me and despite 2 staff passing me a few times coming in and out of the Kitchen, I still was stood waiting. Tables were not being cleared, I just was shocked at the difference to our other visits. As the last time we visited was the beginning of October 22, we wondered if it may have changed hands? We will give it another go next time we’re in Southport as it may just have been an off day. It was not as busy as we had seen it in the past, just not managed as efficiently.

I am not a regular but was just out for tea with a friend and the mount was the nearest to her house.A really nice evening and a shout out to the landlady, we sat and over heard her say to a large group of people on the table opposite she would refund half the bill. Unsure why or what reason but the male she had to deal with was vile. He gave non stop abuse which he then turned it to a personal attack on her and it was embarrassing. She handled it so professional and remained lovely and calm throughout what I can only call a disgusting customer I hope not many businesses have the pleasure of serving him!!! It's a shame the food didn't poison him. Totally vile bullying! Well done to the land lady. ?
