Nice little community pub, good bar staff, and a well-kept pint. I'll definitely drop back in when I get a chance.

Have only started visiting the Clarence quite recently and the majority of the time the staff are lovely, as are the clientele. Lovely atmosphere and great for a sports event or quick drink.

Since reopened is now a great place. Owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Karaoke on Fridays is great with free shots for anyone who sings.

A most enjoyable evening spent at The Clarence Hotel in Wallasey. Found out about the Thursday evening open mic night so decided to give it a go - the hosts, The MGs are really friendly (Mark and Gareth) and there was an eclectic bunch of musicians in attendance with diverse performances. Geoff was great with his rendition of Elvis, Way Down and all in all there were some good choices of songs covered... Original material is welcome too and the PA sound and lighting was top drawer... we will return and recommend it fully. Nice pint of Guiness to boot !! thank you Clarence staff and punters

Cracking old fashioned pub. Lovely atmosphere, doesn't seem to have changed since the last time we were there some 30 odd years ago, and that's what's special about the place ???
Friendly pub. Nice, well served real bees.Good pub quiz.

I used to work here over 20 odd years ago, I left in '99 to join the Navy, been meaning to go back all these years. This used to be a great pub, had great times with the customers and staff aswell as Sandra and Stuart the owners. I wonder what happened to everyone.

When they put an event on like Paddy's day, there's no better place to be.

This pub is quite dead nowadays. There are no real standards anymore. Or staff with great personalities it's not the best place to hang out as the quality customers that used to frequent it are not there anymore sad but the sign of the times I suppose
