I guess I expected a bit more from the reviews but £20 for one sandwich, a stale microwaved vegan scone (rubbery) and a piece of cake (very nice) seemed a bit steep... And the tea was teabags, not loose. Not sure I would rush back and certainly had much better afternoon tea elsewhere.

Absolutely fantastic place to get an afternoon tea. Portion sizes are very good (especially the carrot cake, be prepared!) and there’s a huge selection of tea.

Biddys is a great cafe. The scones are great, in size and taste, the sausage rolls are excellent and they have a good choice of cake. Although I'm more of a savoury than sweet fan. The tea's and coffees are served in an eclectic mixture of tea services. Definitely worth a visit.

I've been going here for years and can say it's a fantastic spot for cake and a drink although... the prices have gone up and some of the cakes have shrunk quite significantly which is a shame since it was already a bit expensive. For example, the millionaire's shortbread is literally half the size it used to be while still costing ~£4.Quality of the cakes, pastries, and hot chocolates is very good though and there's a nice atmosphere. Will continue to go provided that the cakes don't shrink any further!Parking: Parking in Market Place just outside
I have visited Biddy's Kitchen in Aylsham many times, it has always been one of my favourite spots for a gluten free cake and pot of tea. However, I was astonished by the shocking service. There was no shortage of staff, there seemed to be four on shift, but once seated service was really slow. Once they took the order it took a very long time for the food to come out, yet from the kitchen we could hear the staff laughing, joking (swearing), it was quite a stark difference from previous Saturday visits. The food came and it was underwhelming (although the cake didn't disappoint). We also asked to move table (they put us on a small table when there were others free), but vanished so we moved ourselves. Finally, when it came to paying, I stood for several minutes waiting for someone to come, when I was acknowledged I was told someone would come in a moment... about four or so minutes passed before I struck the bell with impatience and someone finally came. I expressed how disappointed I had been with the experience and was offered a discount, but I declined it based on previous good visits.

One of a kind. Cosy. Like travelling back in time. Comfortable. Friendly clientele and staff. Inspiring. Put down your phone and pick up a book. Old Jazz playing in the background. Be great if they had a coffee machine, but it's a tea room so that's just my preference. I'll be coming back. Well done
