Had a couple of nights at the Black Boys Hotel in early June. The room on the first floor was very quirky - with an uphill walk to the bed. That doesn't detract from the stay however which was comfortable and welcoming. The restaurant, which is in the main pub, was really, really good. Stumbled across this place whilst visiting Norfolk & so glad we did. The weather was fab so decided to eat lunch in the beer garden at the back. Definitely been in better beer gardens but hats off to them they have made the best of the space they have.I had creamy mushroom on garlic ciabbata which was delicious and plenty of it. We stayed in Aylsham for a week and the Black Boys was a short walk from our cottage so it was handy. The food is excellent and the choice is varied and there is a specials menu most days with some interesting dishes. Our first meal was the Cromer crab which was huge with large salad and samphire and chips. Delightfully fresh all round.
