One of the few, last standing 'local' pubs.Always a warm reception, cosy atmosphere and great beers and chats with people who won't treat you as strangers.Whether you walk in alone with your dog, with friends and family or just a quiet pint with your book I'm sure you'll find that this place fits the bill.Helpful and friendly service all round.

Stopped in the car park at the rear for one night (£15 for campervan). Small friendly pub was made to feel very welcome with the dog, toilets in the Glamping field behind pub if required.

Old style pub offering simple pub fare, enjoyed fish, chips and minty peas. Hot and tasty. Staff friendly.

A pleasant country pub with good food and beer. A couple of colourful locals were entertaining, but bordering on irritating as they'd drunk a little too much.

Nice simple village pub serving good quality food. Good service and friendly staff.

I booked a group trip here, hiring out 5 of the bell tents for 8 of us. We had a great time, the staff and landlord couldn't have been more accommodating. We got booked in for dinner last minute when we arrived which was super nice as I'd forgotten to do so. The food was excellent and the service was great. The beds were comfortable and the surroundings were peaceful with fire pits to sit by at night. Everything we needed for a break from the city. Thanks for a great time I'll be recommending you to anyone who asks.

We called in after checking out the menu - we wanted to eat some traditional pub grub on our way back home from a local day out.The pub was really nice, the staff were really great and the service couldn't be faulted; the locals were friendly and the food was tasty and filling. The sausage and mash came with more veg than I was expecting so that was a lush bonus!All-in-all, our visit rounded off a brilliant day out and I'll definitely visit again when I'm in the area.

We are pretty local to the site and came glamping for 3 nights in a large group, we occupied 5 of the 9 bell tents. We had 9 children and 9 adults in our party. The tents were fab, proper double beds and then camp beds for the children, lots of space and nicely furnished with colourful bedding, rugs etc. There were picnic benches and fire pits to use and a block or 3 toilets and showers. The showers all had hot water. We mostly lived on bbq food which one of our group had bought along. The pub staff were accommodating, they opened early for us to watch the Lioness’ game, we pre ordered dinner for one evening and the food was good. I think we may have slightly overwhelmed them one morning when we went in for breakfast as had not pre ordered and was quite a delay for food, but that’s our fault really for not giving them the heads up. Very friendly and approachable staff. Highly recommend for a little getaway for families or groups. We may well be back again!
