Unless you're a rich elderly resident the surly bar staff will ignore you if you just want a drink in the bar. Shame because the bar and lounge are comfortable and there's a decent wine list.

We just had a lovely lunch here for our wedding anniversary. Having stopped in for coffee a few week's ago, we knew we would come back as we were blown away by the experience.We chose to sit in the bar which is comfortable and cosy with wonderful views of the quay. The food was lovely, I had the duck hoisin wrap with chips and my husband had the seafood platter. Both were so well presented and yes it's slightly more expensive than some places, but it's totally worth it for the setting, food quality and impeccable service. Thanks for making our day so special, we shall be back!

Have tried to visit this hotel numerous times for a quick bite to eat, and have considered staying here previously. However, while hotel advertises itself as dog friendly, is hugely not so. Dogs not allowed anywhere in the hotel outside of the rooms. Seems a massive shame to bring your dog only to have to lock it away!

We had booked for lunch , so went for a walk across the salt tmarshes in the morning , hotel has a lovely old school feel to it, staff are very polite and attentive, resteruant had a vegan menu for us to choose from and a great table by the window ro sit at, food was amazing g , service was impeccable and we liked it so much we will come back again and this time stay at the hotel. Wonderful location in a very quiet peaceful town .

My parents have been staying at this hotel for the past 20 years and have always had a lovely time and are loyal customers. So I am really disappointed and angered that due a nasty fall resulting in a twisted knee, the hotel have refused to let them change their reservation and instead insist they pay the full amount despite being unable to stay. Shocking customer service shown to such loyal customers.
