I’ve been here a couple of times before. This time my daughter found hair in her food. On my way out I realised that in the open kitchen none of the staff are wearing hair nets or caps. Plus almost £5 for some chips with cheese?

I often meet here with friends for a catch up as it’s a good location for all, but unfortunately we have all decided to find somewhere else, as the staff are particularly unwelcoming and unfriendly. We all work in hospitality and understand the importance of being the face of a company. It’s all about the people, maybe some customer service training would help!

Had to give 1 star as won't let me put anything less. I'm sat here in the cafe at the moment with two other people. The waitress was less than informative but took our order. Drinks, cutlery and the bill arrived soon after . Didn't have to wait long when the food came out. The other two people on the table were served theirs and I was waiting for mine. A few minutes passed when the bill was checked to find my order wasn't even on it. Fab-u-lous, not. I haven't asked as I don't want to cause a scene but will let them know on the way out how non-proffesional and incompetent they are. Obviously would not recommend or visit again. I work in hospitality and would never dream of treating people like this. Don't really want to say anymore as I'm wasting my breath on such a poor establishment.

Was fantastic breakfast as usual. We are regular visitors and food is always excellent. Problem occurred when trying to book the next week for Christmas Lunch. Considering we travel 60 Miles the weather needs to be decent. Spoke to staff via Messenger day before booking who were very helpful Phoned to book and after a great deal of sighing we were allocated a table - until I asked if we could have the Christmas Lunch. Chef was consulted and a manager spoke to me to say i should have allowed 48 hours (fine if it was stated in the booking info) and then I was told that It’s December, it’s Christmas and We’re very busy. Well that much I already knew. It appeared to be causing so much hassle to squeeze two more Christmas dinners that we decided to stop causing a problem and go elsewhere. To be fair the manager did says that as a concession they would squeeze us in but we must not do it again. Our second choice were also very busy but found us a time/table with good grace and to be honest I think the menu Is better. On past experience it will be excellent too. Love Vera’s but the customer can sometimes be a nuisance. Food can’t be beaten but sometimes customer Service leaves a bit to be desired Also lost a Christmas tree sale through this too.

As a coeliac, finding gluten free roast dinners can be difficult, however, Veras coffee shop at AG Meale and Sons was recommended in a private group on Facebook. I ordered the roast beef dinner, with a gluten free yorkshire pudding and gravy also provided. When the meal came out, I asked the waitress if she would please double check if both the stuffing and cauliflower cheese were gluten free, as both are commonly made using wheat flour. Upon returning, the waitress had spoken to the chef who confirmed both items were indeed, gluten free. So I tucked into my meal, at the time feeling reassured that I would experience no adverse affects. Fast forward 3 hours, and I felt very ill and eventually was sick. Unfortunately, something from my roast dinner was infact not coeliac friendly, and I am extremely disappointed especially after double checking before I started to eat!

The best flavoured cheese scone and the most most apple crumble cake, good cinnamon flavour and crunchy topping, simply delicious. What a gem of a find this place is.

We were there for a Sunday lunch, something we have done several times before. This time it was for my birthday. We were told the smaller plates were only for children and we couldn’t have them. It’s never been a problem before. Why now? They did relent but said ‘next time you have to have the big plates’. Well, sorry but there won’t be a next time! We don’t have the appetites for great big plates of food! Overall the food was pretty good but someone forgot to cook the cabbage. We should have said something at the time but felt awkward after the clash about the plates/portion sizes.

Yeah pretty good to be fair. Coffee was the best I had all week and made a point of giving this feedback at the time So went for breakfast on a Friday morning after visiting the farm shop. The welcome was a little officious but nothing onerous. Offered a table By the window and after that service was efficient and friendly Food was good. A full English for one and eggs Benedict for another. Slightly wondered at the use of an egg poacher but I guess in a busy restaurant that it may well be a necessity but this didn't distract from the quality of the food Ignore the negative reviews...written by people with unhappy lives. This isn't fine dining, but the dining is just fine. Quite frankly, I'd go back just for the coffee! Please, if you're in the area, do visit!

Visited Vera’s yesterday lunchtime, we were seated & ordered our food & drinks, waited for a very long time before the food appeared, which I have to say wasn’t particularly warm especially the portions of chips on our plates, which was mentioned to a member of the waitressing team & disregarded, I had to get up a couple of times to get our cutlery for our food as not supplied. It turns out the Environmental Health turned up unexpected so members of the cooking staff were pulled away which is unfortunate but having been in catering all of my life this really shouldn’t effect the quality of the food being served, unfortunately it did, not a great experience, I also had a 10% off voucher that I handed in but am sure this was not applied to our bill when paying. A very disappointing experience.

Could only sit outside on the patio because we had a dog. Had to go through to gates to get to the patio area, no access to the cafe from the patio. One of us would’ve to go back through 2 gates, then through the indoor shop to order food, then back out again through the shop and 2 gates. We only went there to have something to eat. Gave up and left. Obviously very anti dog with all the no dog signs everywhere

Called in for breakfast today on out way home after a holiday break on the North Norfolk Broads. We both had the Gardeners Breakfast. It was really delicious. Really tasty, full of the usual breakfast foods. The staff and the surroundings are very welcoming. It is very light and spacious and the menu is varied. Didn’t have to wait long for our meals. Will certainly be going back on our next visit
