Found this little beauty whilst wandering through Cromer and what a find it was everything was spot on. Even though it was extremely busy they managed too fit me in and glad they did food was delicious and waitress was a star too

We had the crab and lobster platter for two at £58. This includes a dressed crab and half lobster each, so although pricy it's good value. In addition there is fried squid, grilled prawns and large piles of cold prawns and cockles. Probably more than you need. The crab and lobster are apparently caught by the restaurant's own boat. We have eaten at similar places further down the coast in Suffolk and they were far less good value than here. Service is great. Our waitress apologetically informed us of a 20 minute wait which seemed perfectly reasonable - we have often had to wait longer with no notification. And sure enough the food arrived when promised. One comment would be that the bread was just basic sliced granary - sourdough would have been nicer. Overall really good though.

The photos of the food look absolutely amazing on the website. However the food today wasn't great. The chips and mushrooms were cold when they came out....the sea food then had to be cooked - so it just didn't live up to the expectation. It was almost like the sides had sat under a hotplate for some time. Nothing worse than dried cold chips. The mushrooms definitely were not sautéed. The staff are friendly but the restaurant itself needs looking at and a lick of paint wouldn't go a miss. If you are looking for a different experience then go ahead. My recommendation would be to look at bringing out the hot rocks then the sides a little later whilst the food is cooking - otherwise you end up eating dry cold sides with hot steak/sea food -awful. I wouldn't recommend- sorry guys. Not a good experience for us yesterday - we couldn't wait to get out. It would really help if you asked during the meal if everything was OK.....not when you are pointing the card machine as us.

Fantastic food. Staff very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend. Good value for money. All three courses were very fulfilling.

We visited the previous night for Gluten free Fish and Chops to take away as we have a dog and we were told take away is not available in the evenings. We returned at lunch time today and ordered a takeaway Gluten free Fish and Chips x 1 and 1 portion of chips. We paid the £17.95 which seemed expensive and we’re told it would be a 5 minute wait. We were however made to feel our order was an inconvenience and not very welcome. After 20 minutes the order arrived in polystyrene boxes which didn’t close properly. The food was actually good but not very generous quantity wise. Overall just felt the value for money was poor and being made to feel uncomfortable putting the order was poor service. We wouldn’t recommend or return for those reasons.

Came out to Cromer on a day trip with my wife. Came in for fish and chips as we noticed they do gluten free here. Service was brilliant, staff were friendly and efficient and the food was beautiful. Enjoyed our visit and would recommend this little restaurant to anyone. Thank you for making our visit to Cromer a very enjoyable one?. Mr and Mrs Walker.

We found this restaurant by chance, saw it had good reviews, and decided to give it ago. So glad we did. The food was perfect in every way, with quality ingredients locally sourced and perfectly cooked. Service was good, and the waiting time was not long at all given. Everything was cooked fresh. I would recommend this to anyone.

Gorgeous fresh crab salad and my husband had really fresh lightly battered fish and chips. Highly recommend this place. Only simple surroundings with a superb fish shop next door, friendly service and great food

Food expensive for what you get. Issu is ventilation. Only those by door get any and of course they will complain so door shut. The staff know its hot and smokey at the back. Wouldn't recommend for children as can easily burn yourself.

While in Cromer we went on the hunt for Cromer Crab and Hotrocks did not disappoint. While we were sat looking at the meal we watch the fresh crab arrive and our minds were made up -- Cromer Crab salad with a bottle of white. There was not a lot of choice when it came to the wine but for us that was ok. Another good point to make here unlike a lot of places in Cromer dogs were not allowed, which is what I want when eating.

Called in after reading reviews and we’re glad we did. A nice little place, well presented with nice decor. We opted for the seafood sharing platter and to say we were impressed is an understatement. Cromer crabs, lobster, crevettes, prawns, cockles, calamari, salad, bread and butter and dips. Delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Wonderful food very friendly staff lovely atmosphere. We had dressed crab last night to die for and a naughty sweet. Not only was the meal a very reasonable price the portions were very generous

When we arrived, we thought it more of a cafe decor as opposed to a restaurant, but the food was very good and it was very busy. We chose the seafood platter, which was great value for money. I followed up with a delicious homemade chocolate and orange tart with ice cream. I don't generally eat calamari, but this rest served the best calamari I've ever tasted. The staff were very friendly and we'd definitely return.
