We had a superb lunch for a family celebration. Food was delicious, the team were excellent and so cautious about my food allergies, the vibes from the restaurant are incredible . For us a 10 out of 10

The chips were great and possibly the best we've had out (slightly crispy, but not hard), the batter was very nice too and the portions were good, but the fish wasn't particularly nice in our opinion. All nicely presented and served at the table and the staff were nice and friendly too. Surely you can serve nicer fresh fish, No.1 Cromer, which would make it first rate fish and chips?I'd recommend giving No.1 a try.Kid-friendliness: Serveral options on the kids menu, which would be plenty for an adult wanting a small portion.

Amazing food, worth the wait, staff are lovely and welcoming. Only down side is it’s a little crammed at the back right where the 6 seater tables are. Getting in and out of your chair is difficult with the table behind being so close but will say was completely worth it due to the quality of food and service you receive.

The service was just superb. The welcome at the door, catering for a party of ten including two high chairs and the food was good too. Well done to everyone involved.

Absolutely incredible food. Despite people queuing out of the door we were seated and served promptly with no issues. I don’t usually like battered fish but the fish burger was simply delicious as too was the perfectly paired seasonal ale. Also worth mentioning that one of the staff ran after me down the street in the cold after I had left my bag under the table - great people, great food.

Beautiful Fish & Chips from No.1! We popped in whilst in Cromer and was pleased to see it was very quiet. The seating is well spaced, and the service was ?? Food arrived very quickly, and staff were ever so polite! Perfect portion and good prices! Highly recommend No.1!

Fish and chips at their very best, need I say more.

We visited this restaurant due to its position overlooking the sea and not knowing who the management were. The upstairs was closed so we were immediately seated downstairs with a table in a decent position overlooking the sea, pier and beach. We had the standard cod, chips and minted peas which we found satisfactory but rather expensive for what we had. Service from the staff was speedy and very efficient and would probably visit again due to it’s position and views.

Best cod and chips I've ever had. Fish was huge and not greasy, chips delicious. Had tempura prawns to start, they were massive and absolutely delicious. Had a table overlooking ghe sea. Wonderful evening.

We hadn't visited this restaurant for over 10 years and thought it was time to go back. Lovely location, nicely decorated, staff friendly and attentive, couldn't fault the service. However, the chips looked as though they were cooked the night before, small, hard and dry, the battered sausages had such hard dry batter when I put my fork in it just cracked into several pieces. The sausage was tasteless and rubbery and at £4 per sausage unacceptable. My wife's chips were also hard and dry, her cod was nice but the batter wasn't great. Overall disappointed, I didn't complain because they obviously feel this is acceptable otherwise they wouldn't serve it. Food: 2/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5

Able to walk in for a table, and was seated quickly.Range of food was impressive and my partner opted for two starters in place of a main. Portion sizes were good and the food was exceptionally tasty!Tempura Prawns were good and the Moroccan Cauliflower was excellent. Would recommend, although some items had higher than expected prices (cauliflower was £15 and a side of chips were £4)Vegetarian options: Three vegetarian mains: roasted Moroccan Cauliflower, halloumi burger (saw on another table, looked huge!) And a prawn curry that could be made vegetarian

We tried downstairs which was closed for refurbishment even though their Web site made no mention of this. Upstairs was busy and began turning people who had not booked away. I had the cod and chips and my wife the plaice in gluten free batter. My cod was OK but the batter was soggy on the other had my wife's gluten free batter was deliciously crispy. At the end of the meal I thought I've had better and wondered what all the hype was about?

A sad reflection of our times I feel, Galton Blackiston, in my opinion, has lost interest or sight of what No1 was about… I thought it was about the best Fish and Chips… Perhaps it was once, not any more I’m afraid. At the start, I remember the fish being 10 to 12oz (usually 12), fresh potatoes chipped and cooked (cooked to perfection), home made tartar sauce every time, high quality ketchup and bread rolls… Fast forward to 2023, 8 to 10oz fish (usually 8oz), what tastes like frozen chips, badly cooked and anemic looking, no tartar sauce offered, catering ketchup, supermarket bread rolls… What separates this from other fish and chip restaurants in the area? Nothing but how expensive it is. Careful Galton, your Michelin star may slip. Sad times indeed.

Bumpy start waiting 15 mins for drinks and a further 45 mins for mains. People who'd came in after us were already finishing up and leaving. Lipstick on cup. And avoid the Seasonal Ale, tasted like tobacco. Otherwise the food was great, the staff very friendly and the view was excellent overlooking the

We booked No.1 Cromer last minute for 6 adults and 6 children to get some quick fish and chips. It’s more than just a fish bar. The food here is great and they have a wonderful menu. Nice and spacious, warm and friendly with spectacular views of Cromer pier.We would definitely return for more. The children loved the chips served with a bucket and spade each. The fish was beautifully cooked and very fresh.Thank youKid-friendliness: The kids were looked after and enjoyed the whole experience.
