My pap lives local to the pub and comes in regularly on his own. All the staff are extremely helpful to him and always gets his pint poured soon as he walks in the door and brings it over to him. There is a good range of foods too.

If you're coming here bring a book for whilst you wait, and make that book War and Peace.Over 20 minutes to get served at the bar, then another hour for the food.Took over 90 minutes from sitting down to order just a drink and get food. It's Christmas, and it's busier than usual, I accept this. But no excuse for how long the whole visit took.

The staff were lovely, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The venue was very warm and cosy and had a lovely festive atmosphere. It was full of families enjoying a meal. Our food was really good and so was the service, as well as being good value. We were looked after really well by Molly, Grace and Alicia. We will definitely visit again if we are in the area.Kid-friendliness: We didn't have children with us but there were many families there enjoying a meal. We had a small dog with us and the staff were happy to accomodate her.

Stopped here after visiting a Christmas fayre. Main meal was very nice and fairly priced. However……….desserts are VERY slow in arriving. Waited for over an hour for some ice cream and apple pie! When enquiring where desserts were, no apology was made and told ‘there’s a delay’. Not saying the food was bad but give yourself plenty of time to eat and bring a pack of cards for the gap between courses!

A really excellent Sunday lunch, potatoes and yorkshire pudding could be crispier but overall 5*. Service was excellent from the friendly staff. Atmosphere was really warm and friendly. Will definitely come again.

On arrival we were told that we were the only booking for the day and yet the pub was very busy, we were shown to our reserved table and someone had taken then to another and that was taken finally on a third table we were able to stayI went straight to the bar to order our food which was a club sandwich @ 12.38. At 13.15 we still didn’t have any food so I asked and another 15 minutes passed before the food arrivedMany people who came in after had been served. No apology givenThe sandwich was very poor by the usual standards with tough chicken and very overcooked chipsWe left half of it and were very disappointed

We can’t afford to go out much anymore and we usually get a nice meal in here. I sent my food back and everyone had eaten before it returned so I couldn’t then eat it. We got deserts for free but have ended up paying for 2 steaks and only being able to eat deserts so rather out of pocket. Really not happy about this as we only eat out every other month and I can’t really call what we had eating out.Picture is my partners food who didn’t want to complain but ordered a medium rear steak and got that. Mine was cold and even rarer so I returned having eaten non of it.

As a family having a Christmas meal together is important. Fakenham were so good at the order stage. Arrived and had table ready for Christmas. We needed wheelchair access which was delivered. The food was hot and delicious. So much of it as well. Service was excellent we highly recommend Fakenham if you want a get together with family.Parking: Having wheelchair we were able to get very close to the door. Also no steps so brilliant pushing the chair up to the table. Always Sat if you need wheelchair access as it will help to get the table that’s good for your party

A very welcoming atmosphere. The booking experience was easy and the food was excellent but unfortunately the service was poor. Waiting times were excessive due to what appeared to be a shortage of staff. The few staff serving were run off their feet trying to keep up with demand, goodness knows what the kitchen staff were going through. This was our first visit and we intend to return in the near future when hopefully the staffing problems have been addressed.

I brought a group of 9 people to a Festive lunch. The meals were lovely. The only complaint being the Brussels sprouts were like bullets and we all left them. The rest of the meals were fine. It won’t put us off coming back.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options were acceptable

We went to meet cousins we hadn't seen in 30 years! Our table was booked for 12.30 and we all arrived together. We had drinks first and starting to catch up. Then we order our food, which was delicious. After this we carried on talking and then had coffee and more chatting and before we knew it, was 4.30! So we said our goodbyes and promised to keep in touch. We enjoyed our afternoon at Running Horse and will definitely be coming back.

Booked after searching on line for somewhere near Thursford as taking elderly Mum and needed to eat prior to show. Booking was easy and also explanatory about timed slot. Follow up e mail day before was excellent. Pub was clean tidy and very festive with decorations. Staff were all excellent young lad and 2 ladies. And so helpful with an elderly requirement no peas. Just one scoop of ice cream but willing to pay full price just puts off. Disabled and Normal Toilets clean. Lastly food was excellent. Have definitely told all who we know visit separately from Coach Tours now where to eat. Perfect location and service timing took stress away also. Well done to the Team Front and Back if House. Local and Area Managers need to proud of this site and staff. Well trained, service skills and people skills. Hospitality at its best.Vegetarian options: Options availableParking: Well laid out and plenty of disabled. Electric top up area near by within walking.

Very welcoming and so pleased it was dog friendly. Brought our friend who was just 90 a few days earlier and in a wheelchair. Very helpful staff who made space for it and had laid out a happy birthday banner. Our friend who is a very slow eater, wasn't rushed at all and we had a lovely relaxing meal.
