An almost perfect experience. The food hat some exciting flavours, like citrus on Steak or apples on beef burgers. I recommend the Burger and the beef pasta. I would have liked the Chips better if they were thinner, but they do offer slim Fries as well. Go there if you have the Chance.

Family of six, covering three generations had Sunday lunch on the seventh August.Everyone enjoyed an excellent meal.The menu is not huge which in our opinion helps to provide a better quality dish.Roast beef and pork were our choices and they both were well cooked and tasty. Yorkshire puds and veg, all fresh and nicely prepared.Would certainly return if in the area again and thoroughly recommended.Thank you!

I'd been before for my 0% drinkies when passing back from the coast. Chose to return as it is a beautiful place. WELL THE MENU AND FOOD IS AMAZING! We were so glad we phoned ahead. A fascinating menu, found it hard to decide and exceeded all expectations in taste. I had the slow cooked brisket ragu and pappardelle. Front of house was extremely good. All round a 5 star evening meal 0% ales and Heineken Local ales as well Range of gins And dog friendly

We stopped here after looking at the reviews. I don’t know whether there is a new cook or owners but we had one of the worst Sunday lunches in ages. Other diners walked past our table and said yours looks as dreadful as ours! Yorkshire puddings were burnt (they did replace) beef tough, parsnip hard, couldn’t even cut through the beef. Such a beautiful place so sad! It’s let down by the food!!

Wow, what a place, fantastic food, lovely atmosphere, lovely people, beautiful decor and a lovely building, staff friendly and helpful, would give more stars if there was an option, the best food i have EVER tasted, been to other really expensive restaurants and they don't even come close to the food that the chef can create, would recommend ( and have ) to anybody and everybody, treat yourself you will not regret it

Really warm welcome by friendly staff. Lovely setting away from the coast. Very relaxed feel, possibly more pub than restaurant. The staff are dressed relaxed, nice vibe to the place and easy going. We ordered starters and would recommend the wild mushrooms on sourdough. Also ham hock was very good. For mains my friend qent for the brisket rage and papadelle and I had the steak with caramalised/ fried onions and mushrooms and chips. Really lovely presented and tasting too. By 9pm, Friday night, it was almost empty, but we were not rushed . To the contrary we chatted with the staff and met the unassuming manager. Not 'up himself' like many owners can be. Very nice. Great place, friendly staff, definitely coming back. Hopefully English mustard will be available next time. Enjoy
