Awesome local pub with lots of character & architecture. Landlords Sue & John are so warm & friendly and welcoming, it became our second home. The food is fantastic & the beer great !! A must go to pub if in & around Great Ryburgh.

Lovely food, a great location and wonderful staff. I’d definitely recommend

Extortionate bar prices, and rude local when I challenged the bar staff politely how much a tonic water cost after he poured it, £3.30 for a tonic, only 5 customer's on the property at 2.30pm on a Sunday, obviously all the decent locals have abandoned the place

We had high hopes for a good meal at the Blue Boar having read the reviews. Two of the three meals were cold in the middle (lasagne and pie) and although they were properly heated when we asked the quality was very low. Felt like my pie of the day and mash for £16 could have been bought at Tesco for £4.50. Could have been an off day or regular chef away but proceed with caution!

The new owners are very nice and we got chatting about old times when we lived there about 40 years ago. The food is excellent and is well worth a visit. Ease support your local pub and any people want too stop for a meal and a drink this is a nice little hidden gem.

What a wonderful menu. God I love a Norfolk Ale.

I stayed here as a base for two birding tours. The visit was amazing. The staff were amazing and food and drink were excellent.

In all the years that we have frequented the Blue Boar never has the food been warmed up and other reviews say it all regarding friendliness and the standard of the freshly cooked food. Our visit on the 22nd of this month was no exception with each of us (4) thoroughly enjoying what we chose to eat.Even though we sat outside the food was hot as appropriate and served as necessary on a warm plate. Will totally disregard the poor review and continue to visit as often as we can. Everyone does a good job in conditions still tainted by Covid regulations or at least in the absence of clear guidelines.

A very strange experience. We were on holiday and after a pleasant day we were looking for a quick drink at 6.15 on a Saturday evening on the way back to our accommodation. Googled local pubs and thought, this sounds a pleasant place. Entered via a large, pleasantly quirky beer garden with 20+ tables, only one occupied. We were met at the entrance by a masked member of staff and told, "Sorry, we are fully booked.". Explained we just wanted a quick drink and happy to sit outside. Still turned away. Won't go again and I don't recommend.

Excellent food in a relaxed environment with local real ale available. Rooms have comfortable beds & there is tea/coffee in all rooms plus TV.

Just been to the Blue Boar in Great Ryburgh could not thought the food excellent only down side they were behind the times with COVID still using last month precautions .we would recommend this pub and we will definitely coming back

I enjoyed my two nights at The Blue Boar so much. The room was comfy and bright, very clean and cosy. The breakfast was second to none, generous and hot yummy full English. The dinner was also delicious. Thank you Laura and James.

We really liked it here.A friend eats and drinks here regularly and whilst it is a little distance from home, we decided to take a ride out.The Landlady greeted us. Very friendly and welcoming. The Inn itself dates back hundreds of years. Would be very cosy in the colder months with the fire lit.We chose to share Whitebait as a starter and then my partner had the Trio of Pork which consisted of Pork loin, Bacon chop and sausage with a variety of vegetables. It was Amazing!I had a Smoked Haddock dish with a white sauce. Delicious ?For dessert, I had ice cream....both clotted cream and a chocolate brownie variety. My partner had Marmalade Bread and Butter Pudding. We met Chef and commended him.We also met both Adam and Brandon who work for the Blue Boar. Young lads with a natural flair for dealing with the Public. We definitely will return ?
