Fantastic weekend stay in this beautiful house. Personally loved the “self service” feel as made it so much more relaxing than having staff buzzing around all the time & made it feel like home for the weekend. Honesty bar was well stocked with some great wine & spirits on offer. Jonny was a great host when we dined in the restaurant, food was delicious so throughly recommended. Everything was perfect - would give 6 stars if possible!

Really enjoyed our stay at the White House near Brancaster. Located in rural countryside, just a few minutes from the coast or trendy Burnham Market, this hotel 'ticks all the boxes' especially for couples. The building has been very tastefully restored with a unique homely feel in the public rooms. Complimentary homemade biscuits and cakes as well as tea and coffee, were always available to be taken out on the peaceful patio area, with adequate seating and sun loungers to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area. A wide range of beverages were available from the honesty bar. Our bedroom (Room 8), was tastefully decorated and had a King size bed with quality crisp linen. The bathroom, not only had a roll top bath, but a decent size walk in shower. The toiletries were also of the highest quality. The breakfast was very good and our only regret is that we did not have dinner here as had already booked elsewhere. This is a place we would certainly book again if we are in the area, and is thoroughly recommended.

We have stayed at The White House many times over the years. Each visit never disappoints, it feels like we are coming home. We love the relaxed atmosphere as soon as you cross the threshold. We enjoyed the Table d’hote supper one evening, we were served delicious home cooked roast beef and pavlova. The White House breakfast sets you up very well for the day and the staff cannot do enough for you.

Lovely building in a very nice setting down a country lane. The room was really nice, and a comfortable bed, with extremely plump pillows! The absolute icing, is the fabulous breakfast, and also we had a lovely meal the evening before. Will definitely visit again, as we both really enjoyed our stay. Just wish the weather had been better ☔️

What a fantastic experience - so so so relaxing, - lovely laid back and friendly atmosphere. The gardens and rooms and lounges were gorgeous. It rained (yes in July!) and we spent the afternoon curled up on the comfy sofa near the fire, with tea and a book and all the guests were so nice too. They also had gluten free bread for breakfast and did me a special gluten free granola pot with yogurt and fruit compote which was so nice of them. We have already recommended it to a few people! We will definitely be coming again!

A lovely location for us, we like peace and quiet, and we love the countryside. We followed the advice in the welcome email and added The White House homepage to our phone screen. It had a lot of useful information, including a step by step guide to checking in and information on where to eat locally. The key was easy to find, we met the owner on our way to our room and he was very polite and welcoming. Our room was on 2 floors, downstairs we had a TV with Sky box in a room with a comfortable sofa and two armchairs. It also had a fridge, with fresh milk inside. There was a nice comfortable armchair and side table in the hallway, which was nice to relax and look outside into the back garden with the doors wide open. The bathroom is also located on this floor. Upstairs in the bedroom there are plenty of drawers for clothes, a TV with skybox, dressing gowns and a nice bath! We loved the electric blinds! Plenty of plug sockets, and tea and coffee making facilities. We had a great night's sleep, the bed was comfortable and it was very quiet. Breakfast was just right, we were met by a staff member and taken to a table of our choice. I ordered coffee and it arrived within a few minutes, and then we ordered our cooked breakfast which was perfect for us. There is a lounge area, with some interesting books available to read, and a room with tea/coffee facilities, cake and biscuit. There was also an honesty bar, with a wide selection of drinks. We went to Brancaster Beach which was just 15 minutes drive away from the hotel. We noted there is an electric car charger in the car park, which we will use next time we visit this wonderful hotel. Not only was it a great hotel, but we also saw some lovely wildlife, including a Green Woodpecker, Red Kite, an Owl, Goldfinches, Housemartins, and Wagtails! We also saw Deer and Hares! As mentioned, we fully intend coming back to this hotel, it really did exceed our expectations!

Beautiful peaceful location and the bedrooms and interiors are very stylish in an understated way which completely suits the lovely house. Some reviewers have commented on the 'Marie Celeste' lack of staff, on arrival we found someone (the owner, maitre'd, who knows? he didn't introduce himself) but he seemed rather irritated by our presence and even more by the fact that, as first time guests, we didn't know where our room was and politely asked him to explain. We were pointed to a slip of paper (not with the room keys) and left to it. The impression was of an old boy's club, where if you didn't know the ropes, you shouldn't be there. Rather strange and uncomfortable for what purports to be a hospitality business. We did warm to the place, it's very quiet at night, there is an attractive sunny garden, the breakfasts were good and the serving staff friendly, hence the four stars. We didn't eat dinner there. Not sure if we would go back, though, after being made to feel so unwelcome on arrival. Maybe the owner (if that's who he was) should look up the word hospitality in the dictionary.

We found this place by accident, how lucky we were! Loved it, it is beautifully styled. It is more like a luxury boutique hotel vs b&b. We enjoyed the freedom of honesty bar. The friendly owner Mark for top tips. Make sure you try the extra potatoes that he farms. Breakfast was yummy, the granola with plum compote was my favourite. Ate in the restaurant on the Friday, this also didn't disappoint. Look forward to returning

Gorgeous hotel. Loved this place and I felt like someone out of a Brontë book in this quirky Georgian house, with roll top bath, high ceilings, the lot. I especially liked the "staffless" system so you didn't have to engage in meaningless conversation at reception or otherwise. Everything is done online. The only time there is staff is at meals. Honesty box for bar drinks...?? but If I stay in a hotel, I do expect my room to be serviced and not make the bed...that lost it a star...great quiet location, .

At first glance we were impressed, beautiful location and grounds, a little perplexed as there where the owners or staff were as nobody to greet us, as other guests had also found ‘Mary Celeste’ seemed to be the comment most said or thought, all payments / bills were via email, no personal interaction. Public rooms /areas very clean, rooms ok but slightly tired, no room servicing took place our whole visit, used crockery etc had to be left outside door in the morning, with clean left for us to take in, on our return. Breakfast over our stay was a bit hit and miss, fresh fruit salad would be better in a larger bowl rather than on a dinner plate (spillage inevitable) with not plain yogurt available, sausages not that great! but smoked salmon very nice, poached eggs sometimes nice and soft other times, hard like boiled eggs. You have to ask for every item you want! gave the impression they were trying to save on ingredients / costs at every turn. Great teapig tea bag available, but all exotic flavours, most of the time basic breakfast tea bags were not available in, either room / lounge bar area. We booked for the à la carte restaurant one night, once again the ingredients were great, problem was the chef’ing, we started with the olives, bread, balsamic and oil, why did the olives arrive ‘Hot’ with the balsamic vinegar a solid block under a little olive oil. My partner had for staters the smoked salmon which was beautiful quality, but it was a full dinner plate full, no garnish, far to much, but the half lemon was beautifully cheeseclothed. My starter was the scollops, again wonderful quality and size, but something was wrong, overwhelming virgin olive oil strong flavour took the delicate sweet flavour of the scollops away. For main course my partner then had the chicken beast on cavolo nero, two full sized dry chicken breasts on al dente cavolo nero, well barely balanced as it turn out, I had the fillet of fish with shaved fennel, fish was great although I did get a bone, the fennel wasn’t thin enough and hard, not cooked / pickled long enough, again there was an overwhelming flavour of olive oil running though the dish. Ingredients were great, let down by poor preparation, cooking and presentation. The puds were similar ‘rustic’ size and presentation. Unfortunately, the wine was the best part of the meal. All in all we possibly would stay again, but not for the food, as the food we feel it was overpriced, and the lack of personal services within the property. The wedding venue, the horses and minaj areas are both closed and not viable now.

A beautiful gem of a place that is tucked away which gives it an even desirable escape. We feel very lucky to have found this place and will definitely return. The house itself is decorated beautifully with every attention to detail considered, so 10/10 to the interior designer! Great location which means you can easily access Brancaster, Burnham Market etc. Food is fresh and tasty, especially the lovely breakfasts. Highly recommended.

A lovely room in a quiet and secluded hotel, run and staffed by great people, what more could you ask for. Close enough to the coast and nearby market towns to allow for touristy inclinations, but far enough out in the countryside for peace & tranquility.

We were met by welcoming, friendly staff and made to feel at home. Every attention to detail and help was given when needed made our stay in this perfect idyll even more enjoyable. We left with batteries recharged having eat well, slept well and relaxed in the delightful walled garden and grounds. We will definitely return to this delightful hidden gem.
