Excellent carvery, one of the best we've had in a while. Far better than Toby. No queues. Reasonable prices. Good portion on the kids option and allows pensioners to order kids portion. Choc fudge cake is divine. Service very friendly. Good parking. Visited 6pm on weds night in August.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the food was mediocre at best. 3 of us ordered the carvery and the cauliflower cheese was the best thing there. Unfortunately they ran out as they said they were out of cauliflower. The meat was okay but the roast potatoes were soggy and didn't have much flavour. The mash and cabbage wasn't nice either. Someone else on my table ordered a steak and we all wish we'd ordered that instead. You'd think that as the carvery is advertised as the main thing, it'd be good. Unfortunately we won't be returning.

Nice setting and location, the staff were friendly too.The carvery was very average, maybe slightly below average. I live a carvery, and it was my first time visiting a castle carvery, the meat itself was nice and there was enough of it, the veg was OK, little sausages were awful, swede was also awful and the potatoes weren't nice either to be honest.I wouldn't rush back, which is a shame as it could be good based on the menu and location

the food was very bad i sent my wifes meal back because it was all cold.when they broughta replacement meal it was not acceptable because the salad was all dried up and smelt.the burger was overcooked @dried up the chips were served in one lump it seems because we complained they could not be bothered .@there attitude was they could not see anything wrong with it which is not the attitude tobtake i spent 30 years in catering .

We went on a sunday and asked for a table for 9, we only had to wait 20 minutes. The children like the indoor and outdoor play areas. Staff friendly, food lovely, especially the carvery.

The vegetables were lovely and the staff friendly but do have to mention the lack of meat not meats as the chef will only give two thin slices of meat so basically 1 of one meat and one of another you cannot have all the meats even though this isn’t stated anywhere in the restaurant, on the web or on the menu as it clearly states a generous amount of meats which is what it states that you getThis is such a shame as the food was nice but for the price I feel is very poor as you can go to a Toby carvery and have all the meats with no questions asked and to also add that if you obviously a regular customer and the chef knows you he gives you a generous 3 slices of meatI know this sounds petty but when you pay for a meal that clearly advertises that the chef will serve you a generous amount of meats and it’s not what you have paid for and when my husband questioned this and asked if our daughter could have a slice of another meat as all she had was beef the chef said no as she has a standard plate yet I paid for a child’s carvery as I cannot have meat I had the same size standard plate as my husband and daughter who both had adult carverys this I would like to add is false advertisement and is also against the lawThe restaurant and retailers should give what they advertise not what they think customers should get simple

Probably the worst carvery ever last night, I felt embarrassed after taking a visiting friend there. Burnt parsnips, dried out roasties and yorkshire puds. Everything looked and tasted as though it had been sitting around since lunch. Slow service too, not good ?

My family & I visited for the quiz night. We ate in the bar first then went through to the conservatory. The carvery was beautifully fresh and hot. Quiz was a lot of fun & we will be back soon x
