Great cakes and coffee and do a lovely bacon sarnys , good price and lovely dog.Improvements could be to add a real log fire and not a fake cold electric one, also brown bread was stale, we went at 1:40pm so I expect bread to be baked perfect not stale. Also no brown sauce for my bacon buttery?!

Oh dear! Not what we expected! Poppies has always been warm. cosy, good quality food, served up on a bed of friendliness.Well not yesterday! 1.15 so not that late... Soon as we entere, we were told..'hot drinks but not much else, just what is in the food cabinet. There were just a few odds and ends. I had a veg pie (cheese n veg) has to have been about a week old as albeit I had it warmed the pastry was like rubber. Unedible! ( my partner ate it as he was hungry) plus we had a chocolate square cake, rock solid and bakewell, slightly better. We were told that we could not have the carrot cake as this had been taken out of the freezer for the next day!!Two hot (very weak) cups hot chocolate completed our snack. Which I nearly threw up on the way out!It was freezing cold and we had a fire that was fake.. No heat! Just what we needed...How to make you feel unwelcome! Won't be back!

Unfortunately, every time myself or my partner have used this business, we have been made to feel unwelcome by the owners, and spoken to rudely. It's a shame that, what used to be a lovely local shop I regularly used, is now somewhere I would rather avoid as much as possible, and I now only use the post office here, with reluctance. I'm unsure whether it is because we don't present as stereotypically 'normal', but I don't see those that do, get treated the same. The owners let their personal judgment affect their customer service and it is both degrading and uncomfortable.

Nice little tea room attached to the post office and store. Friendly staff, served at table, nice food. Outside seating in season. Super dog friendly.

Nice visit, a mix of breakfast and lunch options chosen - all were tasty. This cafe is dog-friendly and has gluten free options, as well as catering for allergies. Also has a useful little shop and plenty of nice cakes
