First time there, surprise birthday lunch. Wonderful food company very good. Everyone should go & see for them selves. Also the fresh fish shop had fish that I had forgotten about. Such a great birthday.

What an unexpectedly marvellous find!! Initially drawn in by the 'fresh fish' sign, we saw there was a lovely restaurant attached to the shop. Decided to stop for lunch the following day. We chose from the specials, skate wings and I had tuna. Could not fault anything at all. Highly recommend you stop here, but make sure you come hungry!! Delicious food, more than generous helpings. Will most definitely be back.

Fantastic food, ambience, hospitality, wheelchair friendly [sadly no toilet for the disabled] and what a wonderful seafood and fish shop at the front with reasonable prices. We have been searchig for something like this for the last 4 years! You must try it.

Had been meaning to try The White Swan for a while, having regularly visited for fresh fish.Staff were attentive and smartly dressed, as well as friendly and polite.Starters, we all had crab claws. Whilst these were flavoursome, for a tenner, I expected more than 3. I know it's just a starter but 3 little claws isn't value for money. Had to ask for crab forks and even then got given 2 (there were 3 of us).Mains. One of us had garlic lobster, which whilst a fair size was low on the garlic. Two of us had monkfish wrapped in prosciutto. I envisaged for £24.50 a large piece of monkfish wrapped and sliced. Instead it was 3 pieces of fish wrapped in bacon. Nowhere near value for money, although very tasty.Drinks, we had a bottle of house wine for £21 which I find to be very good value for money and a bottle of pink prosecco at £25, again very fairly priced. The low point is dessert. Frankly, this is very poor. Chocolate brownie, 3 tiny pieces (together making up probably the size of a half a credit card). Jam blondie, dry as sand. Cheesecake, tasteless. None of these were accompanied by even a ball of ice cream which for £7.50 a pop is tight.Overall £175 bill for 3 x 3 course and 2 bottles of wine. Not extreme prices but far from good value. Glad we went and can say we've been but won't be rushing back. Shame as GY has very few decent seafood places now.Suggestion is simply to increase portion size overall and add better desserts, even if they are bought in. Drinks menu is very fairly priced and decent selection.
Back in Norfolk went twice in a week. Good food, good service, good atmosphere. Busy on a Monday tells you something.

I had only been to the swan once before shortly after it opened and I really enjoyed the food so my other half, my mum and I went for my early birthday celebrations. It was uncomfortably hot in the restaurant and we were squished into a corner which didn't help. We all had crab claws to start with which were perfection but we only got 3 each, the portion was really small even for a starter - would of liked double that. For main my partner and I had monkfish wrapped in pancetta with thai curry and rice and my mum had lobster. Again, tasted lovely but my partner and I agreed the portion size was small. My mum's was portioned fine, we ended up stealing some of her chips as she doesn't eat a lot haha. The desserts were not great, the white chocolate cheesecake my partner had was not a cheesecake, more like mouse. I got 3 slices of a chocolate brownie, the brownie was nice but where was the rest? We shared the jammie dodger blonde, I was looking forward to that most but it was really dry. There was nothing served with them i.e. cream or ice cream. I'll happily pay for good food but also value for money is important, for example the desserts were £7.50 each. I don't think any of us will be returning.

Shame to write this as I’m sure the food is alright, but I went into the ‘takeaway’ part of the restaurant and received probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced by two older women who talked down to me (a teenage girl) when I asked what the best measurements would be for some crab meat I was after, but wouldn’t help me, and said things such as ‘ you should work it out for yourself’. When saying I came on behalf of my dad (a regular- therefore I wasn’t completely familiar with all the measurements conversions for what he wanted) they said ‘well tell him he should know better and make it clearer’ so I got very flustered and ended up paying way more than I needed too, which they clearly knew due to the tutting and eye-rolling. Sad as my dad uses their shop multiple times a week and spends lots of money there so definitely lost a customer .…

Had an amazing lunch today, two of us had the skate which was cooked to perfection. Daughter had seabass and thoroughly enjoyed it. They were happy to amend an item of veg which she doesn't like. Also had cheesecake and a brownie for dessert ?.Excellent customer service, all in all made to feel very welcome. We shall return.
