Popped in for half pint whilst whilst walking my dog. Very pleasant greeting from new owner and a very nice beer.

First time visiting. Had a roast at £15 per head, was not worth a single penny. Chicken looked anemic and had been frozen for a long time and didn't taste like chicken, roast potatoes were a pile of mush inside but burnt on the out. Very small portions for alot of money. Only good thing was the pubs dog.

Have passed this establishment many times, regularly get updates on Facebook, so we drove in, 12.30, Sunday lunchtime, only 2 cars on car park, thought strange, as we got near the entrance, a lady came out and asked if we were requiring food, as there wasn't a chef booked in, we said no, just drinks, went in the lady told us what was on tap, 1 beer, 1 cider, 2 lagers (which were nearly empty and she couldn't guarantee a pint) and replacements had not been ordered, we managed to get a pint of cider and a pint of lager, the 2 cars were hers (it was her last day) and a gentleman sitting at the bar, such a shame, gardens looked run down, yet today they are advertising for staff

Had a superb Sunday roast here back in April '23. Great ingredients, polite and friendly service, lovely venue and great price.

Lovely, friendly local pub offering great value food as well. Great for both family gatherings and small drinks.
Dreadful - popped in for lunch. On entering it was so cold, no heating - waiting for gas delivery!Three beer pumps not working - waiting for delivery! Hot coffee to warm up, coffee machine not working - waiting to fix it! Ordered steak and ale pie - haven't got any steak - couldn't order it! It was so cold we sat in the window seat in the sun, another couple also sat in the sunny window. We were all asked to move back into the cold room, which we did ( nobody else was there), we were then told we could go back to the sunny room - unbelievable! Our meal of Cottage pie and vegetables arrived -- where were the vegetables, only a few carrots - shocking! A ready made supermarket microwave meal would have been tastier. Will not recommend this pub, will not return as we have pride and taste in where we eat. One star for the carpark.

Had Sunday Lunch today. The food was very good, beef cooked just right, nice & tender, the roast potatoes were lovely but, there was a lack of vegetables, just a few slices of carrot and a huge florets of broccoli, that took over half the plate !! We would of had dessert but was not offered any, so not sure if they even do dessert. Unfortunately there no atmosphere, it was not at all busy, no one at the bar only 2 other tables, but, it’s definitely missing something, it feels more like a cafe, it’s not a cosy place to go, it’s not very inviting.

Have just returned here from a lunch visit with friends.. there was a large party of us, 16 in total, and all I can say is we’ll definitely be back!!! I’ll most definitely revisit with family too!! The food was absolutely wonderful, I had the chicken, ham & leek pie with mash & veg, it was so tasty & filling & certainly worth the price. The service was brilliant, the lady at the bar was doing a sterling job of looking after us despite being on her own, definitely helped that it was a quiet day, but despite this all the food was hot on arrival at the table and she was super helpful towards all of us. We will definitely return xx

Tina the bar lady was fantastic. She needed a platinum medal for putting up with us all. Thank you to all the other staff that stayed over even though the kitchen was closing has we got there. Food was outstanding delicious. Worth a visit
