Stunning food & service. Lovely little gem in Hunstanton. I will 100% be back again!

This was our second visit to Chives, once again we were far from disappointed. It is a comparatively small restaurant but its food strides miles ahead of the size. Cooking from fresh it produces very good meals which are well illustrated on their interesting menu.Anyone wishing to eat at Chives would be well advised to book ahead of their proposed visit, justly it is a very popular venue.Parking: Parking may be available in local streets, it is worth finding a space.

Walked in looking for somewhere for dinner and we were greeted by a young man who was fantastic and helpful. We ordered drinks and sat outside for a short while until the restaurant opened at 5:30.We went in at 5:30 and already the room was filling up. The service was fantastic, the staff were fantastic and the food was fantastic. My husband had the fish and sweetcorn soup to start with, then the fish Thai curry. I had the rib eye steak. The food was outstanding, served hot on hot dishes. The staff were attentive without being overbearing. Would highly recommend and would visit again next time we come over to Hunstanton (it's a long way from Stockport!)

What a beautiful restaurant. Went to celebrate with my new fiance. We had lobster it was amazing. Then we had three deserts as we couldn't decide what to have. The food is amazing the staff are lovely and the atmosphere is perfect. Would highly recommend ?

As a family we’ve been coming here since it very first opened… with its prime High Street location, first rate service, and an outstanding array of chefs… what’s not to like!!!Kid-friendliness: all ages are made very welcome!!!

First time visiting Chives, the food was very good but spoilt by the friction tension and arguing amongst some staff in front of customers. Didn't feel they were worthy of a tip unfortunately.

Party of 4 for Sunday evening. Food superb, service faultless. We had heard good things about this place but were really blown away by the quality. Superb and highly recommended.

We managed to get a reservation here before we went to see a Queen Tribute Band at the nearby Princess Theatre. The shared mussels were excellent with a smashing white wine sauce. I had the seafood pasta and my wife had the crab salad. Both were amazing, fresh and large. Service was very busy but not so much that we felt rushed. If we ever come back to Hunstanton we'll revisit Chives. Recommended.

We were spending a few days with my twin brother in Hunstanton this week. Booked a meal for 4 of us at Chives Arrived just before it opened at 5.30, and people were already waiting outside. My wife was in a wheelchair and has dementia. This caused no problems to the caring staff who made suggestions to help her with food and sitting. Within 1/2 hour it was nearly full. The staff worked extremely hard to keep up a high standard. Perhaps more help needed? We were assured ALL food was prepared fresh. It was amazing. I would say it was the best food I could afford in Hunstanton. I have not eaten at the MICHELIN restaurants. Suggest you book before and do not leave it to chance.

Stayed in Heacham for few days had a meal here on the Saturday evening and it was delicious. Mussels for starters and the crab salad for main, both courses top notch. Had a cocktail and have to say was really nice and well made - well done all four of us were impressed.

Gorgeous little place with a few outside tables. Staff were friendly and attentive and the food was divine. We happened to be sitting near someone who was clearly a regular customer who was so noisy and spent the whole evening slating everything in the restaurant that it could have ruined the evening… not the restaurant’s fault - we laughed it off as their rantings definitely did not mirror our experience. We celebrated our engagement by having lobster and three desserts between the two of us - the lobster was yummy but oh my! The desserts were just the best we have tasted.

Great restaurant with lovely food. Reasonably priced for what you get. Nice atmosphere and good service. Portions were a bit on the large side especially the starters so unfortunately could not manage a pudding which is unheard of for me.

My wife and I are on holiday in Norfolk and visited Hunstanton on a blustery day. It was lunchtime and we happened across Chives. Initially it wasn’t obvious that the place was open then we saw a couple walk in so followed then. My wife picked up a couple of menus and perused them as there was nothing outside or in the window. We liked what we read and the staff were very accommodating as we were a walk in and showed us to our table. An Asian lady was serving us and she was lovely, extremely polite and explained what some of the dishes were. She took our drinks order, a latte, coke and a glass of water with ice, then came back straight away to take our food order. She was very aware of what was going on in the restaurant as she had noticed our table wobbling so came straight away to sort it out for us. The lunch arrived all freshly cooked, I had a 12” pizza with shredded duck, onion, hoi sin sauce, mushrooms and mozzarella it was absolutely stunning, so tasty and not short of toppings. My wife had a beautiful home made soup which was creamy, had ginger, carrot and swede in it and some small pieces of pork floating on top which complemented the dish. It was also accompanied by a tuna red onion and mayonnaise ciapanni (a cross between ciabatta and a panini). The quality was top class. We finished our meals completely and the plates were taken away. We asked for the bill and all of this was under £30, great value. We will definitely return even if it is just to visit this establishment, well done you had the right combination of quality ingredients and great staff.

Hello, visiting Hunstanton on a few days break....popped into your establishment for drinks, felt distinctly unwelcome when waiting staff discovered we did not require food, only drinks.they became stand offish, unhelpful and borderline rude. Initially when we walked in we liked the look of the menu and discussed returning for a meal before leaving hunstanton, but after our negative experience we have decided against this
