Very poor service today. Waiters and waitresses that kept getting things wrong, and pulling a face when we questioned it. 45 minutes to receive our drinks and they were still wrong. Very very poor. Hats off to the chef though, nice

We met my cousin and her hubby here for a meal on a Friday evening and the service from start to finish was highly rated by us as the three young waiters were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us so a shout out to Harvey, Kyle and Rory you do the hotel proud !

What a lovely restaurant Fabulous food We had a starter each the scotch egg , stunningly good , and the duck and bacon salad Also very good aGreat portion size as well! Mains were the blade of beef , cooked to perfection with lovely silky smooth buttery mash and beautifully cooked veg And the pie of the day Chicken and chorizo. Pastry was delicious I went for the fries with it and they were cooked perfectly and again lots of beautifully cooked veg No room for desert! Very good value food and of a high quality and great portion sizes Couldn’t finish the main course! Beautiful decorated and light restaurant and welcoming happy waitresses Highly recommend this restaurant

Loved the food, atmosphere and service. I stayed 5mins down the road and had been disappointed by the lack of quality food and restaurants. Saw a sign for the restaurant and booked in same day! The food was incredible and so glad I found this little gem!

We had our breakfast here and two dinners on our mini break. We enjoyed all the food we were served. All staff were lovely, but particularly Moirah.

We were a family of five adults and two children. The food was mediocre and the menu very restrictive. My starter was absolutely awful, a few bits of beetroot on top of some lettuce with what I can only describe as plastic looking tasteless bagged mozzarella gratings. Others had the pate which came with insufficient bread to accompany it. When we asked if we could have a bit more as I would have liked something to accompany my very sparse beetroot salad also, the waiter asked the chef, we were told no it’s not on the menu and we don’t have bread in the kitchen even though they obviously did! One of the children’s meals sausage and mash didn’t go down too well, we asked could we order a plate of chips, again the poor young waiter asked the chef who said no, it’s not on the menu for Sunday lunch, even though my granddaughter had the burger which came with chips! When we pointed this out the reply was we need all the chips for this evening! Had we ordered two burger and chips instead of the sausage and mash then they would have been a portion down anyway! The roasts for the adults felt reheated from the microwave! I emailed the hotel to give them the chance to reply before posting this review. They acknowledged the email but have not followed up with a response, so am now posting what is only my second review in twenty years for a bad experience. Perhaps the chef was having a bad day but the customers ie us felt most unwelcome! Couldn’t fault the poor young staff who were very nice but obviously felt very nervous of asking the chef for anything extra.
