Arrived couldn’t find our booking barman waiter receptionist and dogsbody all in one extremely rude and offhand after about an hour finally got our keys Couldn’t even get a hot drink apparently machine was broke were told the heating only came on for two hours a day couldn’t get anything to eat they stopped serving at 3 o clock and the bar shut at 8 pm. The room was cold no radiator in the bathroom, no toilet paper and the hand wash dispenser congealed and obviously hadn’t been used for months absolutely disgusting wouldn’t recommend or ever stay here again avoid at all costs.

Booked into Wash & Tope for a two night stay with a work colleague on 10th January. The rooms were extremely cold, after my colleague complained, we were provided with an electric heater each, which, by the morning, had just about warmed the room to an acceptable level. Just before we were provided with the heaters, I had decided to take a shower in order to try to warm up. To describe it as a shower was stretching the point somewhat, describing it as a light drizzle would have been more accurate, in addition to the lack of pressure, the shower head was held up with an elastic band and refused to point in the required direction. The decor in the room was generally okay, but the bathroom could have done with a refresh. We stay away a fair bit on company business and usually use the national chains, but thought on this occasion we would try a small independent, to support a local business and enjoy a hopefully more friendly and welcoming service. I’m afraid to say that we cut short our visit and will not be using the hotel again. Although cheap, the standard doesn’t approach what we have come to expect from the (admittedly rather bland, but reassuringly predictable) national chains. I feel I could only recommend the hotel to someone on a very tight budget and even then would suggest avoiding the colder months of the year (September to June, for example)

We popped in for a drink at lunchtime on a Saturday. Lovely décor and a good selection of drinks (ales). Only downside was it was cold there, there is a fire that wasn't lit and there were hardly any customers present. We were the only ones for some time.Would have been much more pleasant if we were warm. We did leave to go to another pub and huddled around a radiator.

Booked an economy room, really good. Comfortable bed, great lighting, clean, value for money. Room 11 much better than room 13. Only down side £20 extra if you want to check in a 3pm, otherwise,5.30 check in.Rooms: Cheap, clean, comfortableNearby activities: Right near the sea front near all amenities. Reasonably priced.

Great location as its Hunstanton, service is ok I usually go when I finish work. It seems after 8pm it's a ghost town. One person on the bar, as soon as you order you're told we close in half an hour. They are turning off the tvs and lights to get you to leave. I won't be back for food or drinks. I haven't used the rooms but if the bar service is anything to go by I'd pass to the next place

Had dinner here and the food was spot on. The cheesey garlic bread was a highlight. We visited here regularly after an afternoon on the beach or a day out. Great service and friendly staff.

This is a proper pub, does serve standard bar meals off a small menu, but food was great. Has several TVs so great to watch different football matches at the same time.We went on a VERY wet Wednesday night to watch champions league. Surprisingly empty despite all the cars parked around it, but of course it is a hotel as well so that may explain the cars.Despite the bartender being a Manure supporter he was very pleasant to chat to! ?

Spit and Sawdust pub/hotel, which means I loved it.Great banter with server. No extras apart from TVs to watch footie.Basic pub food, but best burger I have had for a while.Did not stay in the hotel, so no idea about that bit but wholeheartedly recommend the pub. A great evening, especially as Arsenal won 4-0 and Manure lost 3-2. ??Food & drinks: Basic pub fare, but best burger I have had for a while.

Visited during an afternoon when passing through the area with the intention of eating. We ordered drinks and chose one of the empty tables available. First impression was the beer mats stuck firmly to a table which probably hadn't been wiped down since 1876. I was glad to be wearing long sleeves or I may have had an unplanned arm wax.We decided to drink up and leave but I needed to use the rest room. I opened the door and was greeted with a smell which can only be described as the odour of the festering bowels of hell......Desperate to go, I made my way to one of the 2 urinals and noticed that the last person to use them had either1. Had no aim, sense of direction or sight.2. Did not understand how to use it, so just went on the floor.I decided to not play pee pee hopscotch - so we left.Chance of a return visit - zero.

Room 8 is where I stayed,a comfy bed and good shower. Unfortunately, the room was very tired, and in need of redecoration as was the bathroom. It was also very noisy at night due to some extractor fans or kitchen equipment running in the nighttime. I was unable to have the window open due to noise. The breakfast was an extra at £10.95, which, given the state of the room I feel, should have been included in the price .The room was £70.00 a bit too much considering the decorative appearance. I wouldn't stay there again as I feel it wasn't value for money. The final nail in the coffin for me was the barman telling anti semantic jokes from behind the barI found them on bad taste and, unprofessionally and totally uncalled for considering he had no idea of who was in the bar, their background or religion.

Disappointed in our room. No window except for in the shower room. Must be the lumpiest mattress ever (room 10). Terrible flooring in the shower room and no mirror. View if the bins outside. Will not be stopping here again. No light on the stairs on the way down to the bar from the room.

Only a 2 minute walk to the sea front, this public house is homely, warm and inviting.A huge array of drinks to choose from at a good price. Food available all day.Staff although busy are friendly and accommodating.Definitely worth a visit.Food & drinks: Food was very good quality and arrived piping hot and well presented.

Very helpful staff who allowed us to leave luggage before the check in time however the room was very dated. The carpet was very stained, large cracks in the walls and marked decor/walls, big cobwebs on the ceilings. The beds were very comfy though but definitely in need of some updating/refreshing.

the room was alright i guess. the people are quite nice but the bar downstairs is very expensive. my mother paid for breakfast and room but was told it was only room included. for Friday-Sunday £300 is quite expensive considering no breakfast was included when she paid for it. quite rude to be honest. the entertainment is alright and the overall location is nice. it’s right next to everything just wish it was a better experience. there are definitely better places to stay in that is half the price
