Only 4* simply because we visited specifically for the mussels, and they'd sold out, so we had the squid and the whitebait instead, and they were tasty and very fresh. The service was excellent, even though they were getting very busy as always.

Visiting family in Hunstanton and wanted to try somewhere different. A little old fashioned and slightly uncomfortable seats but otherwise a quaint traditional pub. Nice food, good sized portions so reasonable value for money. Unfortunately a couple of dishes we chose weren’t available but alternatives were nice

Have been really lucky with this pub. Warm comfortable restaurant, we were made to feel welcome. I don't drink alcohol so to find that they had a small but drinkable option was a relief. If I was to be honest, more choice would be nice. Recommend st peters without gold.0.0 (please) My wife and I had home made steak and ale pie with chips peas and a gravy boat of gravy. Absolutely stunning. Linda's eyes nearly popped out of her head at the size of this pastry clad beauty. Delicious to the last bite, with tender big chunks of beef in a rich full flavoured definitely slept flavoured sauce. We are both pie enthusiasts, and this one lives in pie heaven. We only found this hidden gem by accident, but what a stroke of good luck. Clean and pleasant with a truly old fashioned detail to quality and service.

We went for a late lunch at 2:30. Absolutely appalling ! The staff seemed to be tired and fed up. I had chowder which tasted sour and off with little or no fish, and my husband had scampi, the chips were very over cooked and inedible they tasted of old cooking oil. I had a glass of white wine which was supposed to be Sauvignon blanc, it tasted oxygenated and old! I wrote to the pub afterwards by email to complain and have had no response.

Nice beer garden with a large open-sided marquee (needed as it was very hot that day). Good food and beer at reasonable prices. Great service. Dog friendly - nearly everybody in the garden had a

Not often that you have a really awful meal these days, but that was our experience at the White Horse After asking for my lukewarm soup to be warmed up it was returned some long time later at the hottest temperature it could possibly be! The main course of “Dover Sole” consisted of 2 very small fish! The meal had clearly been kept under a heater for quite some time and was barely edible No comment was made by the waitress when she removed the largely untouched meal

Lovely beer garden with covered or shady areas - dog friendly. This is where the investment has been. The drinks were a little more pricey than where we have been previously and I’m not sure why as the place could do with a refurb. (East) Staff pleasant enough. We didn’t eat standard menu at average prices so can’t comment on food portions or quality. Pleasant enough visit.

We stopped by for a bit of late lunch, the sea bass was lovely, very fresh and lovely new potatoes and salad , we only live up the road we will be definitely returning for something else on the menu , good value for money.

been here before had the pizza menu. no pizza available this time so went for main menu, i had liver and bacon have to say very nice. wife had steak and ale pie looked good but not really. pastry was a bit soggy and as she got further in struggled to find steak and what she did find was fatty and not nice. but got so far in hard to return it. as the landlady/manager collected the plates i mentioned our disappointment in the pie, "oh i'll mention it to the kitchen they are made to our recipe" no apology was forthcoming which in my mind is a minimum requirement. obviously they rely on one off tourist visits and cannot be bothered with a decent level of service. we have had an excellent dish taken off our bill elsewhere {not in norfolk} without even expecting or wanting it just because we said it could have been a bit hotter. we do not complain as a habit but if something is not quite right they can't fix it in future unless they know. having since read other reviews they are not big on service

We walked to this pub from Old Hunstanton across the dunes, a highly recommended walk. We just had drinks in the pub and the staff were friendly and helpful. We glanced at the menu which looked really good and the food brought out looked delicious and we will return to eat there soon

Fantastic pub in a beautiful location! We visited after a stunning walk to Holme from Thornham and were so impressed we drove to visit again for dinner. On both occasions we sat outside in the lovely beer garden due to being fully booked for the whole week. Whilst being incredibly busy, the service was efficient and incredibly friendly. The menu is large and varied and has a large range of seafood.Would recommend arriving as early as possible in the evening - we arrived at 5.15 and grabbed the last parking space and got straight to the bar. By the time we left just after 7, parking was spread right up the street and the queue for the bar was snaking back outside - a mark of its popularity!Great for kids, the site itself is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend the homemade pies!We will be back!

Lovely place to eat. You can eat inside or outside in a really pretty garden with shade in you wish. Food is gorgeous and fresh, service efficient and with a smile. Will not be last time I eat here

Interesting to note how “poor service” is mentioned in the “terrible” category. For us, this trend continued. We arrived at 1.45, hardly peak time. I queued at the bar for ten minutes and, when giving my food order, I was told almost gleefully “food’s an hours wait”. No sorry, nothing. An easy decision - we left and went to a delightfully welcoming pub in the next village.

This is a nice pub serving good pub food and we have eaten here several times. This time clearly understaffed. We ordered food at the bar as we were sitting in the spacious outside area. Ordered a burger for my son and specified without mayo and informed the order taker that this was because of an egg allergy. Luckily my son checked when the food arrived as there was mayo and a pile of coke slaw on the side. However good the food, this establishment needs to be far more proactive in the area of allergies as this sort of mistake is quite simply unacceptable.
