Fantastic stay, lovely spacious room. Really appreciated the quirky eclectic decor in the public areas… a feast for your eyes.Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had at any hotel.Perfect hosts, would find an excuse to visit the area again.Check out the village pub… equally inviting.

We spent one night in a mezzanine bedroom. Such a comfortable room, lovely pillows, fresh milk for our tea and a very nice bathroom. The place is super full of all sorts of things to look at and I can imagine it might feel a bit overwhelming for some but we loved it. Lottie the dog was a delightful addition to the place, such a sweetie pie. Our hosts were so attentive and friendly, and really wanted us to have an enjoyable stay, going so far as to find us somewhere good for dinner and making us a reservation. Highly recommended and I hope this place goes from strength to strength.

We were attending a wedding nearby at Pentney Abbey & stayed for two nights at The Chalk & Cheese. Wow, what a find! So quirky & unique. The old school house is a beautiful building which owner Bridget has decorated with antiques & curiosities that can also be found in her antique shop next door. Husband Andrew went above & beyond to cook us a totally vegan breakfast, they even made sure we had a plant based butter for our toast. The owners made us feel so welcome & were happy to chit chat or leave us be throughout our stay- the perfect hosts. We woke up to a sprinkling of snow & enjoyed a short walk around the warren in the village which Bridget directed us to after breakfast. Be sure to book a table at the local village pub in advance as we weren’t able to get in & ended up driving out 20-30 minutes for dinner. Our bedroom was quaint & tucked away at the top of the building with a gorgeous en suit, shower & bath. If you’re looking for a rural weekend away, a stay at The Chalk & Cheese is a quirky option & definitely a trip to remember- they have cute dogs too! (PS- our taxi was over £60 to get to & from Pentney Abbey despite just being a couple of miles away due to the country roads!)

A delightful couple of nights at Bridget & Andrew's wonderful school house surrounded by their amazing collection of objects. Breakfast in their 'bar' area was brilliant and we felt that we could have requested almost anything! Lovely people and we would recommend anyone on a trip to Norfolk to take in a stay here – and a quick visit to Bridget's 'Curiosity Shop' before leaving!

Quirky, unique b&b in a great location. Loved the cat and dog who live on the premises. The hosts were friendly. Four poster bed room was lovely. Lots of nik naks. Great breakfast. Loved the antique shop next door. Was a very fun place to stay. Pub right over the road has a great selection of ales and delicious home cooked food.
