Expecting a lovely meal in the Lifeboat dining room pre booked in March. Main menu not offered, then due to overrunning refurbishment there was an electricity outage. Too late to go anywhere, no management and very understaffed eventually got a cold snack and no apology from management. Man behind bar was rude. Never will we return.

This is one of our favourite pubs. The covid concern has changed everything. We had lunch but it was in a smart marquee in the car park. The menu is much reduced. The food was good, particularly liked the fish salad but it’s not the same. What a shame not to be inside this lovely pub. Please support them!

Very friendly owners. The dogs are real characters. Stopped here for a drink and had a good chat with the owner. Would stop again. Menu looked good too though we did not eat.

Very friendly staff. Great roast. Good beers

Really very odd. Out of date crisps. Strange decor.

Good choice of ales, welcoming and friendly.

Stayed here for 4 nights at end of February. Run by a lovely couple who were superb hosts, the Lifeboat is a small, 'different' pub. Although rooms are small, they are fully functional with all necessary amenities, warm and cosy. The bar is small, but Carsten keeps quality beer at fair prices. We ate there every night as the food is all home cooked and delicious, with a Danish slant. Breakfast was excellent. The locals were friendly and included us in conversation, making us feel at home. Carsten and Sue run a lovely Pub and B&B, they work very hard and deserve success. Would I stay there again, without doubt !!! Thoroughly recommended !!

We went here for drinks on a Friday night, the best little bar in wells! The best pints (of ghost ship) the whole stay in wells as everywhere else was flat! The prices were cheaper, the landlord was hospitable and the decor is well suited to its name! It is a cute bar for a few drinks to enjoy and the landlord was so friendly, let us borrow cards and just all round nice person! The bar has won camra Awards and you can see why!

It was a nice pub to go into on a Christmas afternoon after a nice walk on the beach was a bit on the cosy side for me but still had a friendly atmosphere and looked like on occasion could be good fun.

I stayed in wells for a week and had never walked into a pub on my own . I visited the pub owned by Carsten and Sue on the Saturday evening with my Daughter and husband as they had popped over for the day. Carsten was instantly welcoming and even spent time with us in between serving . One of the most amazing characters I have met .A kind and very funny chap . Made us feel like it was our local. So homely. I returned on my own as felt comfortable around them. Due to disabilities I found it quite hard to achieve being there on my own but all I can to anyone wanting a PUB, ACCOMMODATION, AMAZING FOOD AND THE MOST AMAZING CHARACTER TO HELP YOU FEEL YOUR HOLIDAY IS LIKE BEING A LOCAL OF 20 YRS OR MORE . THIS IS THE PLACE ! Thank you Carsten for all your kindest and Sue, your food is hard to beat. Five star guys .I will be back Petula x

Food review only. Wells next the Sea was extremely busy on Saturday night but we were able to get a table in the Lifeboat. It was really different, home cooked food and we received a great welcome from the landlord. All our meals and desserts were delicious and it was incredibly good value. Lovely to chat to the locals who were enjoying their evening in the bar.

This is a brilliant place. The owner is a quirky gentleman who has led a very interesting life. The food is well cooked by his wife and is very reasonably priced. If you don't want the usual fast pace service, this is the place for you.
