Never had any issues with the quality of the food. Guessing some people prefer their chips cooked in certain oils. Do not go to Jakes plaice in Easingwold Fish and chips and sausage and chips £15 food ended up in bin. CRAP food. I was well and truly done NEVER AGAIN. I would not rate it at all.

Just don’t bother. Greasy, expensive, tiny portions, just very disappointing. We paid £19 for the smallest portion of fish and chips I’ve ever had, and they were greasy and soggy as well.

Horrifically bad fish and chips. No customers there, I wouldn't have gone there unless my elderly parents had insisted. Everything wrong that can be wrong with fish and chips. Greasy, bad tasting fish, chips overcooked in oil too cold. Oil dripping off the paper. Overpriced and shameless. Avoid at all costs so someone else can take it over and do it properly.

Just in Huby for a two day visit to York and we fancied a simple chippy tea. Quick look online and here we are. Good food and friendly service and the bank hasn't been broken. Great would recommend

This was the worst fish and chips I have ever had in my life. The oil was dripping off the fish and it tasted sour, I was then told there was only one size portions and she proceeded to put about 20 chips in a bag and ask for £8 I shouldn’t have paid. Time for a change of profession

Worst fish ever. It was so dried up my husband took it back for me. Meanwhile his fish and chips were getting cold and his fish was equally disgusting. Waste of £14 for 2 fish and a bag of chips.

We had had most of the other takeaway options and decided that fish n chips. Was warmly greeted when we walked in and ordered. Note that Sausages up north are not the same size as ones in Suffolk!! They are double the size!! Luckily my other half will eat anything that's left over!!! Excellent fish n chips though.
Battered sausage, chips and mushy peas. Not greasy. Perfect chips. Best mushy chips locally in my opinion.

Very basic fish/chip shop - got the cod because they were out of haddock - but it was wonderful. Would definitely go back.

Got fish and chips,which weren’t cheap,thought being in Yorkshire that you’d get decent potions and good value.how wrong we were.not even a kids portion and expensive for the amount.kids fish and fish at home is £3.80,which includes a drink.wouldn’t advise anyone to go there.

Appalling Food standards, the fish was Tuff, bland and greasy. The batter was chewy and discoloured. The chips were almost ok but I wouldn't even dare feed that "food" to my cat. Overall the food was inedible.(definitely reheats). I strongly advise that you stay away from this so-called restaurantThis was an absolute waste of moneyIf it stays like this it will be shut down by the food standards agency!
