Ordered some food for a group at really short notice, presuming to be told they couldn’t accommodate but couldn’t have been more wrong. Wonderfully kind people, who went out of their way to provide a prompt and quality service! Whilst I’m not from the area, if I do journey to Crakehall, I’ll be visiting here. Thank you all very much. Best wishes, Aaron

Lovely, traditional pub, blazing fires and friendly landlord. Best to let them know you are coming in the winter months. Good mannered dogs welcome.Vegetarian options: My vegetarian friend certainly enjoyed her homemade vegetarian chilli.Parking: Plenty of parking during the winter on week days, but imagine may be harder at weekends and in season.

We were staying in a holiday home just a few minutes walk from this lovely pub. Although we didn’t eat here we came in a couple of times over the weekend. The landlord (Bri) was really welcoming and despite us being a loud group of 8 women we were given a vip table so we could watch the rugby on tv. Our night of drinking and dancing was fantastic and all the staff were really friendly. Would recommend this lovely place especially if you want a good knees up with some lovely regular patrons.

Very fortunate to have found The Bay Horse following a bad experience at another pub in in Bedale. Lovely meal and great service at a very reasonable price. The owner and staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly and our the dogs were very welcome.

We visited this pub after a horrible experience at one nearby. We couldn’t have been made more welcome with our dogs. The owner was friendly as were all the people in the pub and the food was great. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would definitely visit again. Thankyou

We are staying nearby on holiday so went for our evening meal. Home made food, very reasonably priced and delicious. My husband had a massive locally sourced gammon, egg and chips and I had chilli con carne. Yummy. Sadly we didn’t have room for the home made puddings!

First time in this pub ,had friendly locals .Visit spoilt by how filthy pub was dirt all over mould on walls ceiling stains of food on walls tables morrow layer of dust.
Cheers to Brian, Kim and Pete, they couldn't have made us feel more welcome. The locals were very friendly and soon welcomed us into their midst.. Really excellent village pub. Food was great too. Looking forward to returning in September.

Dropped in for lunch and was not disappointed. I had liver & onions, hand cut chips & peas . Hubby had gammon, with free range eggs , Hand cut chips & peas . Owner very friendly . Situated opposite a village green. Nice for kids to play out . Dog friendly . Theme nights and quizzes etc . Can’t wait to return .
